Is this TWO RZRs now??? That must have been a side roll.....to do all that damage....and a pretty high speed one? I'd guess?? That RZR is trashed....hope the racers are OK! Can't see the cage......

I took no pics of the cage on this one because it was in perfect condition and took several hits to it as well. I would still like to see the front center bar continue to the frame but Custom Motorsports did a very nice job on the cage...The entire RZR was made in just 3 days I believe!
IMHO this was not a self-inflicted wreck either but racing is racing. I heard Brian at XXX Motorsports has a video clip of this crash...Brian could you post for us? |

The RZR might not be the perfect side x side after all. I've seen a shait load of Rhinos roll (pretty bad) and still go on to finish races. Seems like the RZR is alittle weak!!!!!

I'm sure the razr will work out it's still not even out to the public yet! I think it will feel like your riding in a shopping cart though!! they are really small looking!!

one of our friends has video of this race and he did get the crash on it, we watched it with barry from custom motorsports ,he was the one driving the razor, and tommy lahood was driving the rhino they touched wheels in a corner and barry said the car just whent over, he also said it rolled more times then he thought it would since they werent going that fast .but it was nobodys fault they just got together a little tommys car actualy drove up and over the razor when it flipped, barry was ok , also he didnt get hurt, and thats whats most important.and i must say to barry you were a real help this weekend with parts and helping out, also you showed up with a lot of cars to race and display, and it was very impresive. so thank you very much for your help and support, this is what make this sport great, thanks again.
ps ill try to get him to post this video asap |

We agree with WildBill and xxxrhinosports, let's review the video, unedited, this would remove all speculation as to what occurred. As for the assumptions on the RZR's stability, 1st hand this vehicle handles great, we hoped that we could display this at the CORR track, but was taken out in lap #2. Barry is a very experienced driver with lots of racing off-road experience and believes that the aftermarket crowd will develop accessories to accommodate track racing for the RZR's, just as with the Rhino's. The positive evolution of side X sides is what we hope for and the RZR is the next step in this process. Competition is great, this drives the aftermarket process and produces results, we will always strive to push that edge and produce products that keep that edge sharp. Bottom line, drama is drama, facts are facts and speculation is speculation. We would hope that an open mind be kept, when commenting on the RZR's performance, it gives one hell of a ride. We would be glad to share information on what we have experienced with the RZR, just ask.

Wow, that's unfortunate on my levels. Custom, do you think the frames are weaker than the competition or do you feel the wreck was just that bad?

Custom, do you think the frames are weaker than the competition or do you feel the wreck was just that bad? Chris The politically correct response would be that the RZR lower frame strength is correct for the vehicles weight and practical riding use, CMS's response would be that the aftermarket world goes beyond practical use and builds a re-enfored frame for other than practical use, this is the same process we used for the Rhino's in our stable. |

I have to disagree with you wild bill on this...Gordon's crash was one of the worst ones I have seen. It was a very bad. I spoke to her afterwords and she said that she was going close to top speed when she crashed. With that said I think her cage did okay. I think both RZR cages did okay. Where was jagged? I thought they would be out there. Its still tough to say how the rzr is going impact the rhino. Just my .02 |

Jagged is right here taking it all in. Very unfortunate to see two RZR's crash at the same race. It is good no one was hurt. As for the RZR I feel that it is built adequately for its size and weight and for the recreational riding it was intended for, and that as they start showing up we will find and address all the weak areas. It seems that almost every Monday there is someone at our shop who has destroyed a corner on their Ranger or Rhino. We beef them up and send them down the road til they find the next weakest link. The recreationsl riders manage to find all the weak points eventually.
Jagged is commited to the points series in the BITD and To be eligible for the points race we have to enter every race. We will be at TT250 next weekend. When we heard that UTV's had a green light for CORR we had to make a decision as to weather to take a car that was not completed to CORR and chance this type of thing happening and not be able to be 100% for TT. We decided to keep working on the car for BITD and show up as ready as possible. See you in Pahrump. BS JX |
