I prefer Glamis Dunes Storage

Glamis dunes storage has drinking water as opposed to potable water. They have fuel, propane, camp site delivery, maid service, wash and detail service and they have trucks that give priority to members for camp site dump and water delivery. Their dump stations never have a wait. There is a bunch of room to pull your commuter up and load up the rig and even unload your trailer. Just nice having room to spread out a little.

Steve, Zak and Grant are great guys. If you call them your rig will be ready when you get there no matter what time of day or night. I have always had good service. I always give them extra time on busy weekends. I have always been able to call their number and got a real person on the phone pretty quickly. Also Steve and Zak are both certified mechanics they don’t advertise this but they have helped me with many issues and have fixed stuff for me so my toys are ready to go next visit.

Glamis dunes storage does have package deals that include unlimited water and dump station. They will also match Dunes edge pricing summer and winter. They even give special discounts for GD.com members.

Dunes edge for me.

not to expensive, they will fill my propane for me if I call them, ever have to deal with lines...

I bring a few extra gas cans from home and what ever is left at the end of the weekend goes in the motor home. One tank of gas will last me all season with a few gas can top offs...I'll be there for years to come..unless they get greedy

I don't think anyone would admit to anyone if they keep their toys inside... laughing.gif

But I preffer Kyles Dunes Edge hands down!! That guy has been nothing but GREAT to me for the last 4yrs!! ALWAYS makes room for me, even in wierd situations!!

Eric is there to help you in any way he can, and he know a whole lot about a whole lot of things!! laughing.gif

Service to me is everything... I think its rediculous to spend 100.00 per month at GDS, and still have to pay $15.00 do dump and fill??

Well if you go a few times a month... that can really add up fast!!!

ECM, I know that you have made up your mind...but...

I just wanted to pipe in to say that we stored our ghettoass toyhauler at GDS this past season. Got the GD.com discount. Which, btw, at the promotional time (not sure if it is still going on) was 50% off regular price. A smokin' deal! icon_hot.gif It was great!

Never stored at DE, so no opinion there except that I have never heard bad things...

We no longer store at GDS due to our house build in Ramona. Yep, you got it...we're camping 24/7 in the ghettoass toyhauler, shocker.gif But, when we no longer need to LIVE in the guldurned thing, it will go back to GDS.

The people there have always gone above and beyond. I'm sorry, I don't know the names that go with the faces, but last season, we were buying and selling some property. Our real estate agent called and we needed to immediately fax some info to one of the companies involved. We went in to GDS *hoping* to borrow the computer for the email and the fax to send signed papers. Really didn't want to drive all of the way into Brawley or El Centro in search of a place that could provide that service on the weekend. Not to mention, the dune time that it would cut into!

Not only did GDS allow us to use their office equipment, the didn't charge us a dime...and the email/fax papers were close to 30 pages long! Not a problem! They rock and helped us in a pinch - BIG TIME!!!

We haven't experienced the lack of someone there to help. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, just never to us.

GDS has always been spotless and never a wait to fill or dump for us. As far as security goes, we have arrived after dark a few times...WAY after dark. Each time, someone has "checked in" on us to be sure we weren't jackin' somebody's stuff (do we look that bad? LOL!). I felt our property was safe and sound. As far as sandblasting goes, it's the frigin' desert. I've also seen it blowing through DE on our way out before. Can't change the wind. A RV cover may help in that regard, or indoor storage???\

Anyway, you won't be disappointed in storing your toys out there! It made the drive from San Diego SO much nicer!

yay.gif

since i stayed at a holiday inn once i feel qualified to answer.laughing.gif...yes the sun will cause a speeding up of wear and tear...at the end of the season i retreive the trailer at store it at home in temecula till the next season for that very reason you asked. so in effect i pay for 2 storage places year round....

to help with the heat on the interior a couple 5 gallon buckets filled with water will help keep moisture in the air inside. outside, well whats thedifferance from storing outside there or at home?

i need input here. ill be storing my trailer out there next season and trying to figure out which is the best way to go. both places are on my way since i come from SD, even the dunes edge in holtville is on the way. dunes edge has free water and dump and the rates are cheaper, but the glamis lot is gravel not pavement like glamisdunes storage. course, glamisdunes storage charges for water and dump, it seems extremely over priced to me and the rates are more expensive

what do you think? please post your replies as well as vote. what do you like and not like about each

much thanks folks! Beerp.gif

Ithink driving to holtville is not too far out of the way, especially for the free water and dump. The money saved, is better spent for fuel and other weekend necessities.

I know GDS has drinking water trucked in! not potable or non potable but drinking water and its free with some of their packages!
