I have ridden in and driven a King and it's nice little car. Kingsandcars from the board is also a downright good guy. I also like the Tompro's, but haven't ridden nor driven on of those.

I don't know much about mini buggies, but I was pretty impressed with the King Sand Cars. They chased me around the dunes last weekend and looked like they worked pretty nice.

I'll be building a "Yoshi" car soon, so there will be a REAL unit for demos and such before too long! I'll be visiting as many dunes as possible as soon as possible... Look me up.

Quicksand Performance had a new mini-rail at the SSSS. There are pictures of it here:
http://www.duneguide.com/TripReport-SSSS_2006.htm I was actually surprised at the SSSS. Seemed to me when just looking at the show that the mini rail market had stabilized. I was expecting to see a bit more at the show, but wasn't really impressed. |

I've camped with people who own King Sand Cars and they are awesome cars. Super fast and super reliable. I never see them working on them. They just get in and go.

We were really on the gas (or as Tripod would say, on the hampster) to keep up with Josh, Tripod and that red 2-seater (Eric?). I did have to adjust my chain a little after those two rides...and I thought I had already stretched it out I'll be posting part of that ride on our website, hopefully with weekend. I just wish I had the camera facing forward so you could have seen what Tripod was doing to me |

I have been a big fan of the TomPro cars for a few years now. Very nice work and performance. The drakarts were looking good also, ecotec motorvation and a good look. I haven't seen one in the dunes though.

i ordered the tompro car cockpits are a little bigger and wider and he uses chromoly for the chasis and suspension parts .so far the customer service has been great he allways answers my emails and returns my calls . king would have been my second choice i think they are both well built.

Federal Sandrails (built by Yoshi) are another great choice.

I did quite a bit of research before I bought my King car and I couldnt be happier. The biggest selling point to me was the fact that Brian and Bob have been build race cars for a long time. They raced Sprint cars and built parts for sprint cars before they got into the sand toys. My car was the 55th or 56th sand car they built. No offense, but I'm weary of builders that have only built a few cars. It takes alot of time and alot of experience to get these things reliable, safe, and to handle exactly how they want. Throw in a "family like" attitude and top-notch customer first service and in my opinion, you cant go wrong with the King sand car.
I'm not saying there arent some good cars out there, but I know this one is good. |
