Ok guys I am finally getting my light bar built which is a good thing ... Here's the bad.. the builder is telling me that unless I mount the light bar pushed back from the front on the roof it will throw a nasty glare off the hood and I will not be able to see squat at night ..I like the way they look all the way up front but I don't want to compromise lighting characteristics......Anyone with a hood have any glare problems?

I have seen some people put a little reflector on the bottom of the light bar that keeps the light off the hood. It's basically a piece of aluminum sheet that it the width of your light bar and sticks out a few inches not letting the light go down on your hood. Thats my two cents peace.gif

Looks good ...Did you set it back to avoid the glare?? Does it help?
Mike330R
I never had it set forward due to warning about glare especially with a wind shield.

So, do you like it?
Mike330R
Yep. Works good and no issues.

I actually get glare from the lights in the nose. They are set inward to much and reflect into the cab and onto the windshield.

I'll be out the next 2 weekends if you want to see if for yourself.

You betcha.

My Light bar is set back just a bit and I also had the roof rolled down just a bit to help with the glare. Dont have any glare with 4 7" HID's.

Hey PP are you going to have your rack for this weekend?
MonsterLimo
PP, Iv'e got Joe building me a light rack and we set it back just enough so there's no glare. If you really like it on the very front then you should build the little lip to block the light. Leonard has his light rack on the very front of his sandlimo and he gets a huge amount of glare so he is actually having Joe add a lip to the roof.

Yea, I Heard Leonard did not care for his being up front.. Heard he's redoing things..I went ahead and went with an 8" set-back ..I thought it would look funky but when I picked it up yesterday , It looks just fine ..now it's time to wire ..Can't wait to try them out on a Gordons run..See ya around!
