Driver side shoulder strap is way loose... and, no tire tracks from the buggy?
Looks like it has been sitting there for a while to have the blood that bright?
It's one thing not to have safety equipment, but not to properly use? For an example, I broke a rib from my seat belt being to loose and I slammed into the side roll bar....I learned it the hard way, I will always make sure all belts are tight and being used, period.
From the way it looks in the photo, I hope he or she is ok.... daum.

Looks there are no crotch straps.
I highly doubt the injuries sustained in this collision were due to 'submarining' under the straps, which is one of the main purposes of that 5th point (that and to keep the waist harness on bone structure rather than up in soft tissue)
the steering wheel tells the story. Belts too loose or no belts. Cant tell from the pics. But if the guy was properly belted, his body wouldnt have been able to move forward enough to cause that damage.
Looks like the driver exited out the "windshield" area. No blood on drivers side and the blood pattern on the hood has been disturbed...looks like hand prints.
definetly a hard hit. Hope all is well.

Wow, looks bad. Hope all is well. I had a friend bust his nose once and the amount of blood that came out on the ground looked like someone cut his throat.
Hopefully, looks are deceiving.

WOW, like REFERMAN said there are no tire tracks going into that hole from the buggy. He flew a long way and stopped quickly. I hope they are not seriously injured.

It doesn't take much to bend a steering wheel folks. alot of people jumping to conclusions about loose belts and what not.
I just hope the person is all right, and not hurt to bad.

We came across that buggy this weekend as well. The blood was much darker than the picture portrays, the camera or post processing is responsible for the color. I'm guessing it happened the night before because I rode past in the morning (we went out at 7:00am).

So many speculations. This is SAND people, tire tracks get blown over. What does the color of the blood have to do with anything. And the loose strap on the drivers side, maybe he had to loosen it to get out, maybe somebody else loosened it to get him out, maybe he wasn't wearing it, maybe he was. Stop speculating and just hope that everyone is ok.

I think aliens took him, pulled him right out of the car. I saw some weird lights floating over the south dunes this weekend, did anybody else see them?

This is a quote from GW.com about this wreck.....
"These guys were drinking before the crash and forgot to buckle their seat belts! Both flew forward and hit their heads, peeling back their scalps. The passenger received the worst of the two. Both are now fine and back at work."

I saw that car over the weekend getting towed while headin over to the vendors with the rangers behind them. The guy driving did not look torn up. He could have been a friend or something.

I second that!! I broke my back and I think it was mostly due to my seatbelt not being tight enough combined with too much air!
Hope they are well!
