I put the Lazer Star Bullet HID's on my zyf450 and had some issues. Wires pulled out, housing had a short (gave a nice shock) sometimes they just don't work. I'm not very impressed. I'd be sure to look at the plastic cased HID's I think they look like crap. I have Baja Designs now, very nice light. You really get what you pay for with the HID's IMO.

The Trailtech's are good lights, but don't have the autorefire and sometimes go out and have to be reset. They're supposed to come out with the autorefire any day now.

I also just got a call from Lazerstar and they're coming out with a 3" light with autorefire and internal ballast. I'll see if I can get them to send me a pic.

The Baja Design's are great light....but you pay. What size are you looking for?

I bought 2 100W Bullet Halogens, 2 25W Bullet HID's, 2 30W 4.5" Orion spot HID's as well as 2 dual "filament" taillight LED's at the sand show. I've had the car running for over a month now & have put a few hours of night running on it. I think I have a decent amount of light & so far no big issues. I did have to take a a bullet HID off & break it apart to tighten the nut that holds the housing on, no big deal.

I do dig the blue light off the HID's but IMO the Halogens put out more light than the HID bullets. If you have the current to run them thats what I'd recommend for a small light. If I did it over I'd go 4 halogen bullets then a 6" or 8" HID on the A pillar.

Quite a post coming from someone called pennywise. I feel your post deserves a comment... When we assemble the HID we have to remove the plugs from the lamp to install them in the light. See we get the lamp with the plugs already on them. So we try to be perfect but sometimes we miss, sorry about that. I'd be interested to see how the lamp shorted to the housing. Knowing how they are made it shouldn't happen. I wish you'd given me the chance to make them right.

They should be about the same. I know the ones we're shipping now just upgraded to the latest generation and are for sure brighter.

I did King 1 better, I gave him a prototype to try out this weekend. I do need to correct him on one thing, it doesn't have auto refire, because it doesn't need it. It doesn't turn off unless you turn it off. Well at least that's what we've got so far. King should be able to get me some great feed back...

Among the real players in the lighting market I feel we're very competitive with only one being slightly less expensive and almost all being more expensive. The Harbor Freight/hidfoglight units are not exactly the same and only look similar. This light was tested by us but failed miserably. Ballast issues, adjustment issues, fitment issues. Our lights may look similar but they are vastly better because duners like you tested them on everything from sandrails to race trucks. Saying what they are selling vs. my HID is like saying Vision X is exactly like Hella because the lens and mount are the same. Our Dominator HID won Vegas to Reno (Class 7 Unlimited). I don't think hidfoglight.com or Harbor Freight can make that claim nor are they real/legitimate players in the off-road lighting business. Besides the last 3 times I've visited hidfoglight they've been out of stock, I have stock to ship right now. I also have noticed that these guys only seem to sell what appears to be a spot beam. I have a spot but I also have a flood. Sorry to come on so strong but I've been dealing with this sort of thing for years and this no different.

FYI HID "conversions" as hidfoglight are selling them are illegal in the US. Please PM me if you have any questions. Thanks!
