IF that rest stop is closed, you can back track a few miles, and go to the Shell station at Winterhaven, they have water. Its not free, but at least its there.

You guys have any advice for someone coming from San Diego on interstate 8? Fresh water that is? Thanks.

The rest stop just before you get to Brawley has water.
Just takes forever.

Or maybe it just seems like it being that close to getting to the dunes.

This time of year just go to millie's. If you go on a busy weekend stop at the rest stops.
