One of our projects at Dunesafe.com is to provide a laminated card with all of a persons in case of emergency info on it.
Its really easy to sign up for one and best of all its FREE.
Here is how:
Go to our website at www.dunesafe.com look in the left hand column for the tab that says "Safe Duner ID".
Click on that tab then fill out the form and click Submit.
Its that easy. Then we will mail you your card so that you can carry it with you while you are riding in the dunes or anywhere.
As you know, things in this world arent free. So if you would like to donate to Dunesafe.com so that we can continue to provide these cards and other projects, that would be awesome.
To donate, go to the main page, click the tab that says "support dunesafe", then on the next page click "make a donation", that will take you to a pay pal account that we have all set up, just enter your name and credit card info with the amount you would like to donate and its all done.
Thank you SO very much for helping us try to educate and keep the dunes safe.
Sincerely
Ian

What is it? Better than a photocopy of a drivers license?

Apr 12 2007, 11:35 AM
I was looking for pics of one, but cant find any.
In my opinion it IS better than a copy of a drivers liscense. It is about the same size but the info on it consists of:
Name
address
medical insurance info
blood type
contact numbers for people
usual camp spots
and a couple lines for any other info you would like to add.
AND it is laminated so it is weatherproof.
I will try and get some pics up asap.

Well with you behind it, how can we go wrong. another good part about the laminated part, is when you spill your beer on it, it doesnt get ruined.
In all seriousness though, if someone was knocked out in an accident, all there info would be at a helpers fingertips, the rangers phone numbers can also be put on the card as well.

Thats a great idea, I hate the idea of carrying my DL in the dunes. It would suck to loose it and have to go to the dmv for a new one!

We always have ours in our backpacks just in case! I use it when I'm hiking too...can never be too safe!
These are a great idea and only take a few minutes!
If I had a camera, I'd take a picture of mine Ian...got it in the truck. Tonight maybe?

Tegan, that would be really cool of you. I tried taking pictures, but they kept coming out blurry because of the flash on the laminate. The cards are pretty simple right now, laminated cardstock. Unfortunately, the nice card printers start somewhere between 2K and 3K for a low end black and white model. So my laser printer and card laminator will just have to work until we can raise enough money to upgrade.
PS. If anyone has a hookup on this type of equipment, I would be very interested. Please PM me

There is a place at the bottom of the form to add any additional information, including medical insurance info, that you like. I will look in to getting that page modified a little with some ideas on what people might want to include in the additional info section.

I'm impressed that you included the blood type. Good thinking, that could be a helpful piece of info!!!!!
We do the same thing at work, many of us have our blood types written in Sharpie on our vests.
I do agree that health insurance carrier info would be beneficial. Perhaps even more than vehicle information...but that's just my $.02

Apr 30 2007, 07:58 PM
Well we do put in all the info by hand on each card, so if one thing needs to be removed for other info, that can be done as well.
Never have received mine, should I fill out the form again? How do I check to see if you have it?

Ahhh technology is grand and Ebay rocks. We have a new system to make our Safe Duner ID Cards now, direct printing. Here is a sample. If you have already gotten your card and would like to upgrade, please fill out a new request. If you want your picture on your card, send a headshot to robin@dunesafe.com. We will also bring the system with us to the SSSS and will be making cards and taking photos on the spot!
