There is no doubt that Glamis issues bring out the best and the worst in all of us. Right now tensions are high and even I am finding my patience worn thin.
I had my rose-colored glasses yanked off my head last week when that revised plan came out, no doubt about that. For an eternal optimist, I cannot express how deeply that has effected me.
Does that mean I/we will stop trying to make it better? No, of course not. It only means that we approach the situation in a more cynical way. I/we won't stop trying until absolutely every avenue has been exhausted.
I understand this kind of persistence is not everyone's cup of tea, just as inaction is not my cup of tea. To each their own.
For me this fight has been nerve wracking and draining. I find that I am much less patient, tolerant or understanding right now and in looking back through some of my own posts, I see those less desirable qualities show through. I have already deleted one topic because of the direction I helped lead it in.
For allowing myself to get to that point, I am very sorry. For anyone I have snapped at or offended, please accept my apologies. I will do my best to curb that beast while these battles wage.
No one knows where this whole thing will end up... there are too many variables in the mix right now.
But one thing I hope we can count on is that when this is all said and done we can go back to campfires, toes in the sand, dune runs, cold drinks, friends, family, laughter, and everything else Glamis has to offer.
In the end, that's all any of us really wants.

Hi Vicki,
I haven't been reading up on these issues as much as I should, for that I apologize.
I mean this very sincerely - Thank You!
For your energy, your relentlessness (better than stubbornness, eh? ) your patience, your enthusiasm. It's obvious to even the most casual observer. I'm just glad you've chosen this cause to devote your considerable energy to, rather than some other.
Just thought it might be nice for you to hear it from time to time. It's your efforts and info that helps keep this topic from fading from the average duner's mind as we prepare for the coming season or go about our daily lives.
Thank You! Steve

Thanks Steve, I do appreciate that.
And I'm not feeling as grumpy as I was and I promise I'll try not to let this get to me again, at least not like it did.
Thanks again.

Vicki, Do you read the comic Non-Sequitur?
How odd that I read
THIS ONE this afternoon thinking of myself being what I call a Pessimistic Optimist (others call it a Cynic) and now read your post saying you are an Eternal Optimist.
It made me laugh when I read it, maybe it will lighten your day as well.

SailAway, that was a downright slapptacious post, from da heart, and McScrappbook bound. Slap knows there be torque wrenches comin at ya from all sides, and with it bein HOT, emotions run just as high as the temperature is outside. Keep bringin us da info so we can all work it together.
The other side WISHES they had the passion that we do for our Mother Glamis. You said it, the time is coming to run our toes through the sand.

Thank you Slappy, I'm honored.
We're heading to the Sand Mountain cleanup this weekend so at least I'll be wiggling my toes in sand... not Glamis, but it's as close as I can get right now
