Has anyone stayed at the Blu-In campground? Is it even open yet? The web site has a reservation page but you have to fill it out then print and fax or mail it to them. I've done that but never got a response.
Drove through over new years and it still was being built.
Thanks. I guess I'll look for something else. The fax number seems to work but the phone number says 'disconnected'.
We had stayed at Leapin Lizard T/G 2006, and tried to get reservations for T/G 2007 but they said they were sold out. And we called them opening week!
Does anyone know any other places out there with hookups? I passed a place, on the 78 I think, called Mike's or something like that? We have four family's in our group who don't dry camp very well- loud generator's or 'borrowing electricity'. I'd like to go for Easter so I gottoa get on the reservation list soon.
Mobie Land across from iron woods bar.
But the lady who runs the place can be a bitch at times.

I don't remember seeing Mobiland out there. Got a phone # or web site? How much is a yearly spot? It's nice to camp at a place with a pool for the kids and Grandparents that don't ride.

It is $20 a night. Two spots have sewer clean outs, one by pool, spot 100 and the other one is on corner by the bar and store. The rest of spots only have electric and water. You have to call in advance for sewer spots.Just got back.Park was full of overnighters.Rained from 8o'clock last night and never stopped. We left at 10am still pouring.Airport was a lake,it's going to take a couple of weeks to dry out.

sparkey...where is KLANtee?
SPARKEY
Feb 3 2008, 06:47 AM
There is no such place as klantee.. it''s a joke. I live in Santee (San Diego east county) which USED to have a reputation as being an all white community/anti ethnic. It is not so today nor has it been for a number of years.. but the name sticks... it's also the home of a "Killer" high school... Santana, ... It's sick to say that as it is a sensative subject, but I can say that because my kid attends Santana... GO SULTAN'S!!!

On another subject.. from various threads I understand you hang at Cahullia Trail are you going to be there Prez day weekend?
We plan to camp on Cahullia trail between Hidden valley and Commune, would love to hook up with your group as we (adults) are out numbered by the kids.
Just looked inside the toybox and the first day is gonna be spent fixing flats and replacing steering boxes on the rail etc but if you should venture along Cahullia Trail and see a 26' Dunes toy hauler with a British Flag hanging off of the taiil gate stop by and say hi... and that goes for anyone who have kidlets... gotta keep them sukkers entertained

I may be out there..still trying to figure out who, what, where, amongst the normal group of regulars..but of course..the more the merrier no doubt....
and thanks for the info on klantee..I didn't know that...I thought Huntington beach and lake elsinore were the stereotyped "white power" areas....shows what I know.

I need to reserve three spots for Thanksgiving week. I called yesterday and the answering machine has the same message from last year "...breaking ground on the new RV park January of 2008..." The web site has been updated/changed but the reservation page doesn't work and the park layout map is gone. They have a form you can fax in but they want yor CC info for the reservation. I'm not doing that, who get's these fax's?

I'm bummed to hear all the negative press. We have been riding from plaster city/ocotillo wells over to the blu in for years. They used to have rib night twice a week during the season. The desert hose was always kind of gross.

Rumor has it that they are not going to continue building the rv park now.

We were just out there last weekend and it looked like the Blu-In RV Park was moving along. It looked like the water tanks were there, the hooks-ups were there and some little office building thing is there. Not sure what else is missing other that trailers. The ground is still dirt no pavement.

Good memories.
