I was looking at putting a pro-flow K&N on my raptor. I would just feel much better with a filter that is bolted on. Has anyone done this and is there any mods. that need to be done to the air box? Rocky MTN ATV has them for $129, is there any better deals on on out there? I already have a pipe and with the two what would be the best jet to use @ 3,000 ft.? Thanks in advance.
SHOCKER
Yeah definently ket a K&N, there shouldnt be any upgrades, with the K&N nad the jets just leave the filter box lid off biggrin.gif

I don't know of anything cheaper than $129 for a bolt on air filter kit.

I do know you will notice a difference in response.

In regards to your jets, I would not change them unless your raptor is cutting out (too lean) at full throttle or if you see or smell raw fumes (too rich). If the bike is running good, leave it as is. Actual comments from Duncan Racing.

there is some modifications to the air box if you use the k/n with the bolt on set up.almost all of the insides get cut out to make room for the k/n filter.the dynojet kit gives you all the jets and info you need.

Thanks. I think i will leave the jets alone unless other wise needed. Does anyone know if there is an air filter out there that is comparable to k&n? And has anyone seen an article on mods to the raptors air box? Pictures always helps me :roll2: Thanks again!

i went and checked dynojets directions.for a bike with aftermarket pipe and filter at 3000 feet or below.they reommend dynojet #146 in the left carb main jet and dynojet #148 in the right main jet.put the clip on the needle on the fourth position from the top.turn the fuel mixture srews until seated then back out 3 turns.keep in mind dyno jets #on their jets do not match or line up with mikuni.also the dyno jets needles are more tapered.they also recommend cutting out the tabs on the air box snorkel.

Hey C-Diddy, thanks. I might as well try the jets and just see if it makes a big difference. I need to get the k&n on its way as well. I am kinda
new at this so i appreciate all the input. Again thanks!!!

K&N proflow kit, Dynojet kit, and pipe will make a huge difference. I am running all of the above with the lid off and 148/150 jets.
