Full Version: Extended Stays At The Dunes?

Whenever I have gone to Glamis, it was only for 2-3 days at a time, so what I am wondering is if it is legal or not to just park my toy hauler and truck there and live in my toyhauler for weeks or even months at a time? It would sure beat shelling out the money to stay in an RV park, and grey and black tanks can be emptied easily by a professional and refilled with water. Can just drive down to Brawley to restock food, etc.

So how about it? Can it be done? Always been a dream of mine to stay out in the dunes for an extended stay, and just making sure that it is possible as I would like to try it sometime this coming season. I work online, so as long as my Verizon (or Sprint, still debating on which to get for my wireless connection) internet is online then I should be able to go about life as usual without any interruption.

Thanks. pepper.gif

I think you are allowed to stay 7 days .I could be wrong though. But if you moved around and it was during the season I dont think it would be a problem. You would just blend in with the crowds.

Would it be possible just to switch the area where I am camping? Or how about going from Glamis to Buttercup or something??
Ifly
Depending on were you camp im sure you could go more than 2 weeks without anyone noticing. Or just plan on a trip to town to dump and restock every two weeks.

Also there is the compound, Hit up Robbie about a permanent spot. He also had the wifi going at the end of the season witch would help you out alot.

I know if there was someone out there all the time I would be more likely to leave my rig out there the whole time.

14 days is the official time. I bet that you could keep the same spot for longer than that though. I've thought about staying out there for a month before headbang.gif I did 12 days with Copper and Buggy Gal lanst season and we had a blast!

Should not be a problem, I have heard 14 days also. Just need to exit the area, and re-enter. A trip every 14 days to Brawley for dumping and restocking should do the trick...

Yeah, that sounds good. Probably would be good to get out of the dunes for a few hours every few weeks. Might go SAND crazy!! spaz.gif

Thanks for the help guys, I will definitely be camping out in the dunes this next season for a month or two! Gonna be fun!! pineapple.gif

14 days , BUT who is counting. As long as you have your season pass, USE it . I would love to spend the season ther. PM Robbie. You can purchase a pound membership and camp there. We camped 6 days there alone this year and it was great having the entire place to ourselves, PLUS you are next to the store for small stuff.

Good luck.

Okay, I will shoot him a PM in a little bit. It would be nice to have somewhere permanent to stay in the dunes!

^^^ Me too! icon_bigcry.gif

We stayed for two weeks and nobody said anything... hell nobody was there to say anything laughing.gif

I'm sure you could find a spot off the road and no one would even know you're there.
