Full Version: Woods Valley Kampground
anyone ever been here? im going this year to meet up with my dad and his family for the upcoming wknd. arrival friday 4pm 6/29/07. gonna stay till sunday 7/1/07 but they and my son will be there for 10 days. i know its a PITA to find since i have already been warned by my cousins. never been there before and will be in the RV. any useful hints to share? what has the weather been like out there lately?

weather is warm probally in the low 90s, this camp ground is about 1/2hr from Escondido
woods valley road is pretty twisty just drive slow..

I was just out there yesterday scouting camping locations for the summer!
It was in the high 80's yesterday at the camp ground but alot of shade made it nice. Didnt really feel hot. Mostly shorter units there. We are 38'-39' and there were only a handful of spots that we would be able to menuver into. Most of the little loops are one way in and then not much area to turn around in. You have to back out the way you came in. All dirt roads and there was one I came down that was all rutted out. There is a cool little catch and release fishing pond when you pull in and a little (I do mean little) convienience store at the front. All in all it looked really cool except for the site sizes and lack of room to turn around. If you have dogs, they are the only camp ground that has a nice sized gated grass area for dogs! You could play ball and everything in there. Pool looked clean but there was nobody in it. There was a church having service on Sunday, dont know if it is every Sunday or just was maybe a youth group or whatever they call it when you go away for the weekend with the church.
When driving to it, it comes up really fast on the left side, if your doing more than 20MPH, youll pass it! I was doing 30 in my truck and almost missed it completley.
