With the low prices on the honda 400 ex what are the pros and cons of the big bores and are they any good duning. Also, what am I looking to spend on either one of them and who makes the best kit. During the night ride in july at olds I seen a 440 kick some butt.
SHOCKER
I think ct racing makes a 440 kit but its a bit pricey, go with the 440 kit a 416 isnt much biggrin.gif

The 440, the real question is which compression ratio you want, I went with the lower to use any gas, and fewer problems. I have two 400ex's punched to 440's, very nice improvement - but you won't be beating any modified Banshees. You will have to re-jet and re-adjust the carb when you do either.

The 440's will have more torque and low end, but at the expense of slower revs

The 416's feel a little snappier and rev easier than the bigger 440's

My Buddy has a 400 (Done with the 440 kit by CT and Suspension too)

It is Pretty Fast and It Rides Like a Cadillac in the Dunes (sooo smooth, I love riding it)
