Need info please!

This is our most recent press release. We can only supply the information as its given to us from the engineering department. Wish we had more for you but that's all we have at the moment.

San Diego, CA - Mendeola Transaxles is getting ready to unveil a new transaxle for the 2008 CORR season opener. The new ratchet-shift transaxle is a blend between the ever so popular MD4S-2D and the sequential shifting S4. "You get the advantage of lightning quick shifting in a compact package", said Mike Mendeola. The new model will use the exact same mounting points of the "2D" so customers wont need to redesign the back end of their race cars. Although aimed at class 10 and 12 desert racing cars, the transaxle will be extremely well suited for short course, stadium style racing. The transaxle will be available in a 4, 5, or 6 speed configurations with rear or mid-engine options.

Sound sweet. Now when my 2-d brakes I can get a six speed so I can still get good gas millage on the freeway in AZ.

I would like to know if you will be able to use the same 2D case? Also can us current 2D owners get a deal on the gears if we can use our same case. Trade in of the existing gears?? I know for a fact that Fortin does this.

Thanks beer.gif

GitrDone:

WE have not yet talked about a trade in program for the new gear box (LQ456). However it will not use the same case becuase a few more holes are requred for a sequential, sorry. But I will bring the idea of a trade in value to the table at the next meeting.

When are these available to the public?
At the start of the 08 season CORR races?
Thanks

Will those of us with a 2D be able to direclty bolt all items to the new ratchet trans without modification... i.e. - CV Flange and motor heighth?

Also, will the new trans be rated for a higher HP than the 2D?

Thanks for the info!!

Jerry
Victor@MendeolaTransaxles
It is possible that the motor will be raised but not much, shifter mabe tricky since alot of cars nowadays are vacumformed, cvs should stay the same. As far as HP rating that is our goal but as usual untill we get it in a race car and drive the you know what out of it we will not have a real number.

Do you have the physical case drawings with measurements you'd be willing to post?
