Well, it happened. The love my life that ive worked on for over a year and a half is dead. My k5 blazer is totalled. My dad has her in his name as well as the insurance and he decided that he wanted to use mine because his cummins was actin up, he used it to cruise up to victorville to pick up my half sister and on the way tire blew he was cruisin at 75 and he tried to cut over across the lanes and got nailed by a f350, shes sittin in the junk yard i went to look at her today shes done. i managed to salvage my extra tools from the back and my gas can, a few other parts are sittin in her that i might be able to grab but i dont have anything to use em on. Thats all I have because my lumina is smashed and its gona be a couple grand to fix, so the hell with that im gona go find a truck. Anyone have anything up for sale or have any friends? i dont care at this point but i would prefer a chevy, older, i dont got much cash to spend my dads poor enough as it is and the insurance aint coverin s*** my dad got liability only for me for some reason even though im payin more then i should be for liability only. If anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction id appreciate it. Thanks guys, oh but good news, cruisin up in october for a weekend trip, so far we have 6 rigs crusing up, hopefully if i have something by then ill have the 7th. Not sure of the exact date but ill let you know so we can all have a good time in the dunes.

those old chevys are tough and parts are cheep, why not put it back together. There is no way to replace it for less.

i havent done a good examination but shes pretty beat, the ujoints on the drive shaft are gone and my drive shaft is bent now the front ends smashed the rear is pretty beat too i wouldnt know where to begin and i need my daily driver back

the sheet metal is very cheep, junk yards or repop and you are done. Front axle and rear axle for a 1/2 ton are everywhere you can use ones from most older trucks, blazers, or suburbans. You can even swap up to 3/4 ton or 1 ton. You can get drive lines build pretty cheep or from a junk yard. I have rebuilt several old chevys pick ups and blazers.
SHOCKER
What to do? dont let your pops drive the truck, haha.

Na, im with duner2 on this one. Go to the truck and make a list of everything that looks like it need replaced. Then go to the junkyard and see what you can grab and how much. Then go from there.
