Messin with my wifes quad today tryin to get it ready and it won't idle. It will start with the choke fully on, but as soon as the choke goes off, it dies. Pisses and pops when I keep it running with throttle and no choke. It has been sitting since new years, and before that, it probably wasn't ridden more than 2 hours in the last year. My immediate thought was bad gas. Went and drained the tank, changed the plug and air filter and it still does the exact same thing. Next thing that I can think of is that the carb must be a little gummed up. Anybody else got some words of advice for me???
Thanks

I'd say carb with that bad gas in it or is gummed up.

Yeah, the "new" gas sucks. I would guess pilot jet is plugged. I need to clean the wife's out soon also. You need to use stabilizer and drain the carb on these things.

Well, I went thru the carb today and though it looked really clean, there must have been something in there. I took it apart, sprayed all the jets out with carb cleaner and just basicly went thru it. Didn't find anything, but when I put it back together and fired it up, it purred. Had to adjust the idle since I fckd it up when I was trying to get to run before. Anyways, just an update, thing is good.

There is also something that goes wrong in the carb that allows the gas to run straight
out the overflow. It did that to my 05 once, then stopped.
I once read about a fix, but need to search again.
