I was wondering were to weld the tabs for the front limit straps on my Buggy Works/DD car. Were do you guys have the tabs and could you post pictures? Thanks Rob

The farther out you can mount them, the less weight they are holding and the slower they will stretch. I run airshocks, so I just use about 4 washers to space the straps from the tab and install them through the shock bolts...

Thats what I did on my DD-BW too. The only difference was I used bushings from McKenzies drilled out instead of washers. NO pics, but almost identical to Yoshis

I use all grade 8 hardware on my rails, so they have a nice gold color to them, including all the washers. It looked really cool having a nice stack of thick washers in there. It was temp., but I liked it so much I just stuck with it for all my rails...

I use all grade 8 too. Some of the more visible bolts I hit with the buffer- the yellow is gone. I found a place that sells grade 8 chrome, but they gall and the threads locked up...

if your suspn is going to far you can add a spacer on the shaft inside the shock. my other dd car has no straps in the front and is just fine and the rear needed them till i got some new axles and special cv stars from suspn unl.

The rear need to be adjustable. You need to set the rear up so you have the most travel possible before your axles bind, and as they stretch you will need to keep them tight. The front isn't so bad, I have about 4 or 5" of travel restricted i nthe front putting me at 20" travel, it can stretch all it wants and nothing will happen up there..

For the rear, I welded a piece of hollow tube to my frame, ran an 8" long piece of 1/2" all thread through with a nut on either side of the tube, and a big ass clevis to hold the top of the strap. very easy to adjust with a wrench..

I bought the clevis from KarTek. It came with the spring and two nuts. I finally pulled my head out and figured it out on my own 25bangin.gif. I basically did it the same way as you. Welded the tab to the rear trailing in the same place as yours. thanks Rob

question for you all?? with the bigger cars like the dd sand cars and the buggy works cars i would think that the rear straps need to be mounted straight up n down because of the weight of tires and arms pulling on them. if they were mounted forward on the top and toward the rear of the arm on the bottom the angle on the straps would allow roll on the bolt and allow for it to go farther then you wanted it to?
