I use my rhino at the dunes for fairly easy small dune rides and then on trails. I am looking for a better(softer) ride than my stock shocks on my 2006 Rhino. I have stock suspension with off set wheels. Any opinions on which shock would be best. I can get them for about equal $ so the price is not a big factor. I just don't want to buy one and wish I had the other.

Thanks for your help!

Terry, I have Kings on my Lt kit and love them but they were specifically valved for my kit. A friend of mine has Bilstiens on his stock suspension and it made a world of difference. From what I understand Bilstien put alot of time into valving specifically for stock setup and it seems to work great. To give you an idea of the difference, my friend before installing bilstiens had to creep thru big whoop sections. Now he hammers thru full throttle. I'm not sure if King has put any time towards valving for stock Rhino, maybe some one will post up with that info.

Good luck on your quest.

King Shocks for a Rhino with a LT Kit is ok. However the King Shocks on a Rhino with stock suspenion is no good. The king shocks are just not set up very well out of the box for a stock Rhino. I would go with the Bilsteins. Take a look at the WERS. They are my first choice for a stock Rhino followed by a close second are the Bilsteins. You will be happy with either the Bilsteins or WERS but stay away from the Kings Or Fox for a stock Rhino.

From what I hear and read the bilsteins work well with stock suspension. If you can buy either for about the same price .Kings w/ res.? I myself would go with the Kings. Im sure you could get someone to set up the valving right.

The King shocks will make you Rhino look faster just sitting there, cuz the piggy res.

I would go King for the bling! ......Looks is 50%

If you are looking for bling then get the WERS. I have personally tested the Fox, Kings, WERS and Bilsteins on stock suspension. The Fox and the Kings are not even in the same category as the WERS or the Bilsteins. I think the WERS are slightly cheaper than the Bilsteins. So if you want the reservoir then get the WERS. The ride is a far improvement over the kings.

I have to disagree ..... I drive my Rhino like I stole it and I had the WERS and they were perfect right out of the box. I now have the MTS kit and I run the Bilsteins right out of the box. They are great. Most of the guys with LT Kits can hardly keep up with me. The Kings are not set up very well out of the box for a stock Rhino. That is why King has changed them 3 times.

Save yourself lots of hassle with revalves and trying to dial the shocks in. Get some WERS or Bilsteins they are perfect right out of the box.

I should also add that I do agree with you. The Kings are far better than stock. I am not putting down the Kings. If you upgrade to the Kings you will see a big improvement over stock. But why not get the best....... The WERS and the Bilsteins are even better than the Kings. Whatever you get it will be better than stock.
