Wow that was our best turn out yet! Amy counted 28 people just before Porboys group showed up - he told me earlier that they would be bringing about 8 people so I figure we must have had at least 36 people there.
Couple of newcomers showed up and even more regulars. Jason's new car is looking, sounding, and apparently performing great! I finally got to see Jim's car in action and rode in the back of a four seater for the first time

Matt's buggy is back up and running again but needs a new battery....he also found a really nasty witches eye at the top of comp but thankfully Glenn was able to tug him out with the Jeep.
And our new TRT rep Glenn was already hard at work. There was the frame of a collapsed e-z-up that was there a month ago at the last Duner Dinner but no one drove a truck out so we had not way to haul it out. No one drove a truck this time either but a couple of BLM rangers cruised by and Glenn flagged them down. He asked if they could haul the trash up to the dumpsters but they said something about "We've got a guy who comes out and takes care of that kind of thing".
Glenn didn't accept that answer

He kept on them and eventually they loaded it up (with help from whoever was nearby at the time) and dragged it out. Apparently the ranger is from Yuma and he and his partner were the only guys on duty for the entire ISDRA today. THey had spent the whole day going from camp to camp starting at Buttercup, then going up to vendor flats, washroad and Gecko and finally back down to Buttercup again. They had given out something like 8 citations today. It also turned out that they don't have any toys and aren't duners other than to perform their duties as BLM Rangers.
The only thing that worries me is if we keep having this kind of turn out the pot-luck will have to be a little more formal

We had TONS of food show up today! Not only the Cheesecake but also some rice that Nats made which got rave reviews. Some of that Holtville carne from MPR, 10 lbs of the carne I get, homemade pasta salad, Lots of different chips and salsas, and I don't know what all else since I was pretty busy at the grill and greeting people

But it filled two tables and then some!
Plus to top things off we had a couple of shirts (trueexcitement.com) and some can coolers (Racecraft) that we gave away near the end of the evening. Porboys group wasn't going to stick around for the goodies (they had to drive back up to Glamis still and it was getting late) but it was a good thing they did since most of them got to pick up some goodies.
Thanks again to everyone who made it out, I hope you all had a great evening! The next YumaDuners event is our in town Dinner on the second tuesday of next month. Be sure to visit YumaDuners.com for more details since we may be moving it to a new (more family friendly) location. Next months BBQ is on hiatus since it would be the same weekend as the poker run. Instead we'll just look to see everyone there and maybe have a BBQ in our camp afterwards if there's interest.
