Although I had heard about this after the July open board meeting, this is the first time I have seen it mentioned in print.

Grant George did not seek re-election as the President of the ASA, and will be stepping down from the position on January 1, 2008. Bob Mason has been elected new president.

Grant, thank you for your years of dedicated service as the President of the ASA. Knowing you, I'm sure you will still be very active in the organization in some way.

As Past-President, Grant will become a member of the Executive Advisory Committee (if I understand the protocol correctly) joining Jerry Seaver and Vince Brunnasso. They ain't letting Grant get too far away.
