I wanted to get more information on the tickets that will be issued for sound violations...

Are they going to give tickets to everybody with aftermarket pipes??? Is there any way that you can show that you support enforcement (kinda like suckin up a 'lil bit)

I don't have some load eardrum piercing pipes, but I do have DMC's, which I am sure will be over the limit...kinda sux IMHO.

I will do all I can to follow all the rules and regulations, like any duner should, but having aftermarker pipes is part of the fun out there...can't imagine putting ol' stockies o my shee.

Thanks in advance for the information!

Troy

Just hand the ranger some ear plugs and call it a day.

The word is, and who knows if this is actually what they will do, but the word is that they (BLM) will be issuing warning tickets for a while.

Don't sell your aftermarkets short. There's still a chance that they will pass.

How this actually shakes out remains to be seen.

those race banshee's with the drag pipes will be bummed

Just think about how much money these companies are gonna be losing. This sucks! >:< Like the noise is gonna hurt anything besides bluesky's feelings. >:<

SHOCKER
They cant catch your DMC bike

A buddy of mine from thumpertalk.com ran into this situation last year in Hollister. The first few months, soundchecks were voluntary and only a warning was given if your bike didn't pass. After the initial period, checks were mandatory. I'm not sure when tickets were given. This is probobly how it will happen in the ISDRA.

They can catch me alright...them tricky lil guys will be on their mic's saying "we gotta boggie in bound...look for him around Ol's....Bastard thinks he can outrun us....ha...isn't he mistaking!"

Hopefully they don't harp on us duners just trying to have fun:)  biggrin.gif

That would suck if they gave me a ticket...I heart it is like $170...but who knows..you know how rumors go.

BTW....Rubberneck...you are a stud! Carlos said so!

Thats why I bought the E-series white bros silencer. It's fully tunable. Get a warning ticket, got back to camp and de tune (for that day at least).

I was told this morning by a TRT member that the BLM in the El Centro office only has one machine to do sound checks this year. The BLM was only going to give warnings this season but, they will know more from the meeting tonight.
c-diddy
i'm sure the first few tickets will buy more machines.then more tickets then more machines.then who the f#$% knows what they will dream up.

i hear there are different limits for different year bikes etc.. do dunebuggies have to have that limit and spark arrester/muffler?
HB_OFFROADER
Where do you think they are going to be Givng Tickets SAND HWY,GECKO, Olds

JUST STAY IN THE DUNES and off the Beaten Path
Kevin
they cant test in the sand from what ive seen so far, the testing has to be done under ideal conditions, and in sand is not an ideal condition.

At the TRT meeting today the BLM showed us their test meter. I asked Neil Hamada if the BLM would be testing. He said that they would have the meter at the Cahuilla Ranger Station available on request. The Visitor Services Staff will peform the test for users.

The ICSO could be testing and enforcing.

Hmm, this is second hand info from Alba, but, they were just down at Buttercup and said the rangers were ticketing quads and buggies, but could not do it in the sand (I knew I liked the washes.) AND that even stock pipes fail the new law, which apparantly is NEWER than the one they passed last year.

Gee, this will be fun. NOT.

With any luck, the law will change.

Can't hear the stock 450. But the Raptor fails entering the State line. Peace

You know it, but those loud "punks" in pick ups with glocks and pallets are such a problem. Well according to the Gestasapo they are. Can't they just leave our self-made, over-enforced, want-a-be disneyland alone? :? We don't need all the dunes to keep selling our products. :x
Sand-Wedgie
Well I'm glad that they will FINALLY be citing you people. I say that all you whipper-snappers with them loud motor bikes need to quiet down. Sometimes a guy likes to listen to the sweet sound of a tiny k-rat pooping in the dunes but you cant 'cause of them crazy exhaust pipes. You folks are the same ones that drive your cars with no gloves in the glove box. You should be ashamed. Go Rangers!
Water In My Veins
What a bunch of BS!!!!

The next thing you know, the environmentalists will prohibit the forest service from cutting down dead trees and a bunch of people will lose their homes. Oh, thats right, that was last weeks headline. Sucks to be a home (foundation) owner protected by a tree hugger!
