I thought the 4e was good for 350 horsepower?
What happened?
Isn't it against the law to sell someone something under false pretenses?

Outside of HP, tires size and weight of the car are huge factors when it comes to trannies..

I'm kinda surprised at the differences between the 2D and the S4S trannies. My biggest problem with my 2D tranny has been the US gear R&P. I just had the tranny redone and they installed the Klingelnberger Palloid gearset, we'll see how much more durable this one is.
What I'm asking is, since the 2D and the S4S both use the same R&P, why the hp difference between the 2? The gears are larger in the S4S, but the R&P is the weak point, and it's the same size in both trannies. Is there something about the casing that's different that holds the R&P more rigidly?

Good luck in court on that one ^^^.
Nice chart .. wheres the part about tire pressures, paddle cup sizes' , torque , clutch / pressure plate selection, type of driving etc. ??....
I guess the only good thing out of this is most of us duners that have undersized mendi's can look foward to lower replacement parts cost due to an overwhelmingly large number of people that went off the old chart and will have to keep screwing the pooch to keep on duning. I was pleasently surprised when it only cost me $ 2500 to replace my 2d case and r & p after 2 seasons...
There is a glimmer of hope for us ..... The Transworks NOSECONE !. LOL.

I'm a little blown away why you or I can still get the old hp/mendi chart by just clicking on the " spec sheet pdf " ?..

At the time of the creation of the website 550hp in a 1700 pound car was the hot setup 8 or so years ago... not anymore. Just a few years ago an ls1 was what a ls7 is now. Things have changed and the change is cars have gotten bigger. Compare a 1997 sand car to a 2007 see how many differences there are? V8 are now common place when before V6 and VW's were common. We all know that the torque and HP from a V8 is different from a V6 and/or a rotary with the same Max torque and HP. Now when the V8 was first put against the 2D we advised against it, when it worked everybody followed suit, it is the direction the sport went. So now that is why we offer different gearboxes. Would it not make sense for us to change the HP ratings since the motors have now changed so much? The new sheet that is out descirbes the application out this way when the somebody goes to buy a car they will know what gearbox it needs. To many cars get sold with gearboxes that do not belong in that car, whether budget or profit had something to do with that we have yet to determine. The same person that first put a V8 to a 2D runs a 1100hp LS motor and has his gearbox being gone through now, 1 tooth was broken on the Ring & pinion after 22 trips, keep in mind this is a demo car. This car has been to the drags, been up the hills, everthing most people do at glamis, and thats it 1 tooth. I hope this clarifies things a little and i am not throwing anyone under the bus...its evoloution and innovation.

Its very interesting that's all - Its honesty coming out th way it does- I personally would like to see a it of a beafier side cover on the 2d that's all- It seems quite small- oh yeh I'd like to see the spiral lock left out- and a real snap ring put in place- Jess

I still have a flyer from Mendeola that states a 2d trans is good for V8's putting out well over 500hp.
We all know thats true if you follow two simple rules..................
1. NEVER use reverse
2. NEVER use 1st throught 4th

Mendi guy's , ... Im stoked you guys are looking into another beefier version for us 2d guy's with v8's !. Most of the 2ders with v8s know where your coming from and is good to know your looking into a remedy !. I cant wait !!.
Any word on the " transworks- nose cone & bearing " ,, ????? . Do you think a cooler and pump inline is benificial to the 2d life ? ( my cooler setup added about 2 extra quarts of fluid to my 2d)
I have both and I will gladly be a G-pig for any added info here !!.

So what your saying is that 550hp in 1997 is different then 550hp in 2007. You advised against putting a V8 to a 2-d but rated the 2-d for 500hp

. If that were the case torque limits should have been posted as well before I dropped 7k on something thats worthless to me.
