The family and I pulled into Buttercup this past Monday and when we looked for a spot we found this pile of trash. This wasn't way down by the plank highway or anything this was right off the road to the East of the ranger station. Much closer to the vendor's area than the cul de sac. And probably no furhter than 100 yards from the dumpsters. It looks like there was an attempt made to burn the trash but no fire ring was dug. They burned a lawn chair and what looks like a large metal footing. To top it off there was a magazine that had been left sitting on top with the address label still intact. When are people going to learn. It is only a matter of time before the environazis see this and take away our land and ruin this sport. There was also a lot of trash left in the dunes and at the hill.
My rant is over. Other than the trash and a tire blow out on my trailer the trip was great. Weather was perfect. You can still cross from the Buttercup into Gordons during the week. You just have to ride through the construction zone. If you enter the south end of the canal near the border road you will see where there is essentially a road marked off for vehicle traffic. We crossed several times and never had a problem.

Thanks for all of the support. I was smart enough to keep the magazine and am mailing that to them with a copy of the pictures.

Absolutely use the picture. i posted this so people can get information out and we can self police the problem. I think the law enforcement has better things to do than baby sit people for picking up after themselves. My son is a year and a half old and he already knows not to leave trash after he is done.

We were there this weekend. The bottom of the hill is a pig stye at Buttercup. We cleaned up a bit with the rhinos three bags worth. Effin' dune trashers were out and about latley.. bottles, cans, cinderblock, burnt chairs etc... Really sucks to see it like this on our first trip there this season..
