I bought two running for 100 each, gave one to cr and kept the other. Well running, kinda. But cr's was complete and mine was missing the seat. Anyways, in SoCal, rule of thumb.............82/83/84.........o.k. and maybe running 300 to 450ish..............nice and running and complete 500 to 600ish.............anything over 600 better be f-n perfect and running really strong and missing nothing, I mean 100% complete. I wouldn't pay more than that for any year unless it had something special, like suspension or a 125 in it or was restored or you have money to burn. They hold there value in SoCal for some reason. The best way is to buy it from a freind or family that kids are done with it and they are running out of room in the trailer or garage. Stay away from buying them complete on ebay if its not local, but parts are great on ebay! I buy most of my used stuff off of ebay, (honda atc 70) search and www.dratv.com for new parts, plus service honda, service honda has great prices on factory oem parts. If you find one under 300 any year and any cond. jump on it. |
great info Stoney, thanks........

There's an auction on ebay right now- seller's name is dratv. It's a manual clutch conversion kit for ATC 70's. That might be pretty cool. On his website, he's got the 110 kits, Mikuni carbs, etc. for them too. I just sold both of my 70's, but you guys are making me wish I hadn't!

This is stoney on cr's computer, it was the nut behind the wheel! The tranny is fine. Small oil leak, dam chromers messing my stuff up, but nothing a little sealent wont fix, in the dunes of course, cr's work doesn't like 70's doing hot laps, neither does the Pasadena PD, oopps. Anyways she is alive and well.

Bill's Sand Devil made it's first appearence along with 6-packs new 125 power plant. It ran strong. I have some more tweaking to do if I'm going to beat that girl with the mean grean machine. That 125 motor/trans it much heavier than the 70 motor.

last 70 i rode wouldnt pull 3rd gear let alone 4th, hard for that little motor to get 250 pounds of cargo moving.

Dec 25 2003, 10:52 AM
you need to let grandpa wrench on it for a little....it will pull 4th gear easily when he is done with it. He is a 70 god!
