We were at Boardmanville sitting outside having a few cold ones and having a great time. There were a group of us sitting at one of the tables on the patio, and another group next to us at the table directly to our left that butted up against our table. Boardmanville was packed, and everybody was enjoying themselves. We talked with a few people and many of those that we did talk to were first timers. Many of them also were wearing sandals and light clothing. We didn’t pay attention until Zoo looked down and saw this.

Apparently Zoo thought he slid his boot on a French fry, and when he looked down, he saw this beauty. The Scorpion obviously didn’t want to be there, and realized he was amongst many people, so he probably tried to find a hiding spot, which was under zoo’z boot. Scorpions can hide in very small places. Unfortunately he found a spot that was his demise. Too bad, he was a good sized Scorpion.

We put him in a jar and showed the people that were wearing sandals and told them that he was killed under the table just a few minutes ago. After they saw it, most of the sandal wearers began picking their feet up off the ground. Our scorpions in Glamis are no joke, and will put a good sting on you. So be careful when walking around at night with no shoes or just sandals on, you might get a zap.

see why we need c.p.r.? maybe coulda saved him......... but you are right this time of year is very tempting to lounge in sandals or even fip flops but there is a time and a place for everything!! they can climb pretty darned well also if my memory serves me.......

i remember you showing Little Man the scorpion. he IMMMMMMMMMMEDIATELY comes running over to me and says "im glad you make me wear my boots or tennis shoes in G". thank you for the valuable lesson! thumb.gif its good for any age of the person you are teaching! until then, he thought i was a a wacko for the 'no flip flops' rule.
