LovesDunes (Pete) of Hot Shot Racing designed a new wing trunk and light rack for me while Bob and his son at Bengels Off-road built the parts.

They are coming out great!

The light rack. It will have a different light bar actuator and should lay flatter on the roof when tipped all the way down.

The roof and windshield frame. I really like the way Bob Bengel made the rolled edge on the roof and the top of the windshield frame curved. It will look like the frame sits flush with the roof.

The wing truck is almost finished and has nice curves! It will also have a recessed area for the GPS antenna to sit in and the latches will be on the sides rather than in the top. Also notice no rivets in the hinge smile.gif

Bob makes some trick exhaust cut-outs if you have your exhaust routed out of a panel. He also makes a nice tilt steering wheel set-uo for off-road cars.

Car should be finished in a few days then maybe off to powdercoat before Tday!

Thanks for posting the pictures Mike. I haven't had time to go over and take any. I'm sure Bob has cursed my name a few times with all of the curves on that trunk. tongue.gif

NOT TRUE AT ALL! I just wish I could crank this thing out faster for you guys. It's always a lot slower working on finished cars. Protecting paint, upholstery, and polished aluminum always slows down the progress. I love the design work that Pete has done. While the things he designed are very labor extensive I think it is well worth the effort. Im anxious to check out the changes after powder coat. Thanks Pete for the patterns!!! I also wanted to thank Mike for helping out on the web site, It's taking shape quick. I will try to get you some more info. for it early next week Mike. Oh, and did I mention how BAD ASS your car is looking? LOL 25cheers.gif yay.gif

Hey Pete, I have a feeling I know what that actuator setup is gonna look like tongue.gif

It's actually a lot like it was, but with a different actuator. The old one was pretty scary looking. It would have been nice to redesign something more along the lines with what you have on your car but that would have required more fab work and time.

Ya I know what you mean, the old one was kind of looking like an after thought. Your car is looking great Mike, Petes the man for hooking you up!

Got everything powdercoated and installed just before Thanksgiving. Looks real good!
I like the actuator much better. It a cleaner look as well as faster in moving the light bar. And the way Pete designed the lightbar it lays flatter on the roof and allows me to get in the trailer without pulling the actuator off like I have to with the old one.
When I sent my 2 lights in for repair I had them swap them to floods rather than the modified beams. Much better light coverage with 2 floods and 2 modified beams. I am thinking of changing the 2 modifieds to ACRO's new style ( I forget the name) which will be like the modifieds in range but have a much better light spread.

I also had roof vents added to help create more air flow through the cabin to try and suck some of the sand out that makes it way around the windshield.

Bengels also had to make me an all new windshield frame as the old one was too tweaked to get the new glass into. It came out great and looks better with the new roof line.

The trunk came out real nice also. He put the latches on the side's and moved the GPS antenna to a panel next to the radiator:

Thanks for posting those pictures Mike. I'm glad you liked everything.

Did you notice any difference in the dunes with the wider front wheels?

Yes the tires rub the arms at full tilt icon_sad.gif
Wish I knew what I was doing when I ordered the new rims.
