I am considering buying a Sand Storm Fabrication car. Does anyone know anything about their cars? How dependable is the builder? How is their quality? How do their cars handle? How do they hold up and perform?

they are right up the street from my house, very nice guys, father and son buisness, get a good bang for your buck, appears to be built very stout.

Doesn't anyone own one of the rails that could tell me how they perform and hold up? I'd love to hear from someone with some personal experience with one. They look good and the owners seem very nice and honest, but I would sure like to hear from someone with personal experience with the rails.

Great car. I picked my up at the end of last season and couldn't be happier. Great people to work. I did a lot of research and homework before I placed my order and I was just about sold before I even talked to them in person. The car drives like a dream not a lead sled. Very nible in the dunes with plenty of power and you can't beat the price for a fully loaded model. Very well built car and great people to work with.

I ended up finding a real nice used Unlimited RPM with a shortstar engine and mendiola trans. It is in great shape. Very well taken care of car. My first trip in it should be over the New Years weekend.

I always try to be safe and keep four wheels on the ground. I am coming from an old school mid engine so this high travel car will definitely be a new experience and one I am excitedly looking forward too.

well, with the new house needing so much work, once again the car will have to sit on the back burner for a few months. I would love to have it up and running by next season. I am trying to find a deal on a tranny. That thing is the single most expensive piece of the build!

Stay patient. You will find the right deal. With money tight for most people, I have to believe that like everything else, the prices will come down. Especially if you have the cash. SAVE, SAVE, SAVE in the mean time. Good things are worth the wait.

Thanks for the compliment Steve. Hope to see you the next time we hook up with the Covina Sandeaters.
