While I did not get any pics, it seemed like there was a lot more accidents this week.
There was a buggy that burned half way up Patton and they were taken away.
Saw a long travel crash/wreck near the drags(not sure how the occupants are but heard there was a body bag), There was a quad accident that required the heli, and Friday night looked like an SUV went into the canal???
Then Sat. night there was a heli that landed the next camp over, heard that a guy was running from the cops and hit a kiddie track???
Also, on the way back from Glamis on Friday evening, saw the remnants of what looked to be an Artic Cat burnt along sand highway.
Does anyone have any details of these?????

Well, thursday night at test, I saw a LT buggy going across the face when he hit a lip and did at least 4 end over ends and came to a stop on his side. We were just leaving at that point, but we saw a fire medic there with a back board and on the way back to camp, we counted 12 BLM going code 3 to the scene....not a good sign. We were out at 5 mile drop on friday when we saw a big ploom of black smoke. On the way to the drags, we saw that SXS on it's side and burnt to the ground. Rangers were up there and working on 2 people. On the way back from the drags, life flight was at the scene. Very bad sign. Really hope everyone is OK.

Any body know how the people made out at the crash on test Thursday night? The guy was racing me up the hill not 2 min before he crashed on the west side of test. One of the guys in our group saw the whole thing and said it look like he came off the gas going over that hump on that side and lawn darted it in. We went up and look at the car, there was not any roof bracing in the car and all the sheet metal was bent down to the head rest, front arms torn off the car. The rail look brand new. Hope everybody was ok!!!!

I hope everyone that got into an accident this past weekend turns out ok.
People need to use a little bit more self control and think. I will walk away from my soap box before I even get on it.
This Thanksgiving was the first time in about 8 years I havent been to the dunes, and frankly I am glad I didnt go.

There was also a artic cat prowler in the canal on thursday. My friend was going by and saw a guy diving in to get her unstrapped. He got her out ok and then he swam around hooking up the tow strap. My friend said he was a professional diver. Talk about the right person to be there for her!

Saw the helicopter 3 times this weekend... On Friday after the fire up by sand highway... then 2 more times on Saturday.
I also saw the cops chasing a guy through the flats past our camp, and then watched as they congregated about 500 yards from our camp tending to a guy on the ground, I can only assume that was the guy that Disturbed mentioned.
I watched a buggy driving ACROSS the hill at Patton Valley hit a quad... the rider got up, and the rail came back to the scene. Everyone seemed okay in that case.

I was watching the buggy that crashed on Test hill Thursday night. He went straight up and almost crashed with a vehicle coming down and then decided to turn left and go sideways along the hill. He launched off one of the rollers and landed nose first on the upslope of the next roller and rolled a min. of 5 times! He Rolled Passenger rear tire over driver front tire. It was a rear over front roll, Nasty crash!
Driver got out and ran and was arrested for DUI, Resisting Arrest, and 2 other counts. I felt sick to my stomach after watching that crash. Not something I ever care to see again! Car was absoultely TORE UP! I am curious to know the maker of the car.

The guy that rolled the buggy at Test, he pulled up to our group about 10min before he rolled it.
Brand new car, no B pillars, was his first night out with it.
He hit that same hump once and almost went over, back end kicked way up.
He then came around and did it again, then rolled it.
He was driving like an arse up and down the hill.

While I hope that everyone is OK from those incidents, Glamis seemed mellower that Thanksgivings past. If you think about it, that is 4 or 5 incidents with how many thousands of people in a small area? Seems like it is pretty safe overall if you only have a handful of incidents with 50,000 people there.

It was the Sponge Bob rail if that helps at all. We were there as well. I just happened to mention to my husband to look how fast the rail was going across the face of the hill and then it started flipping! Fortunatley one of the guys that was with us was an EMT and was one of the first ones on the scene. Scary stuff for sure!
We also just happened to be rolling by the yellow rail. At first we thought they just lost a tire, not realizing that it just came to rest after flipping several times. The peope were still in the rail and bleeding. We stopped and helped pick up all their stuff and brought them back some cold waters. They were camped right next to us. We saw them yesterday getting loaded up. Driver was in a hospital gown and having a hard time getting around. Had to have others help him.
What a weekend!

We were at Buttercup, but rode at GW on Saturday, weekend overal seemed less crowded and quiet

Did see a Tatum roll at Comp (Buttercup) on Friday, But everyone was ok. It was one of the better T-days I have spent in the dunes in the last 5 years.

We saw them towing the rail back from the hill around 2:30 am Friday morning with a triple axle tow truck. The front end looked pretty tore up and the left rear wheel was blown out and dragging.
Also saw a guy on a 3 wheeler Friday night at the top of the hill roll. Looked like he might have broken his ankle. And my buddy seperated his shoulder Wednesday night running the left side of the hill.
We came a across some chick on Thursday night who blacked out while riding out to the hill and lost her quad. She said a couple of guys told her it was floating down the canal.

The kid that got hit by the buggy driving across the hill at Patton was with our group. He was fine, just bent the tie rod a little.
I know the driver of the Arctic Cat SXS that rolled and caught on fire. They were cruising down the sand highway and something on one side of the rear suspension broke and caused them to roll. The driver has a lacerated liver and 3 broken ribs. The passenger broke his ankle. Both are doing fine.

Definatly some carnage. We spent most of our time in the dunes. Went to the hill and watched for a while on all nights pretty good trip overall. I broke an a arm on the car coming back from the hill at night hit a little uphill just wrong, driver error. limped it back to camp.

You forgot to mention the standard travel rail that rolled Steve. Apparently the driver had his wrist/hand crushed by the frame. We helped roll the car over right after it happened, the driver was taken to Yuma for surgery on his hand/wrist.
As far as the Artic Cat, that happened in front of one of the guys in our group as we were coming back from Glamis on. Apparently they were getting squirly and it tipped over. When our friend was checking on the passengers he noticed smoke and flame coming from the Cat. He said it went up real quick. The passengers ankle was looked pretty bad but overall they appeared OK.
