Those are nice cameras! I think SDHQ is selling them also.

I use the Oregon Scientific action cam, only $119.
A great video cam for the beginner.
no wires, cables etc. all in one unit.

I hear Lowrance will also offer video support that plugs into the extra (unused) port on the 540c. I hope to know more in a month or so.

Thats a nice setup.. 25cheers.gif I like the fact that they use a memory stick instead of a cam or hard drive.. Cools stuff.. Those of you that check out their page, notice the nifty clamp on cam mount for $59.. Thats a pretty good deal. I saw a similar one at an HD post production trade show a few weeks ago for around $100 that got my curiosity as it allows you to move the camera wherever you want when you want. The one I saw at the show had some good vibration dampening built into it and could support a fairly heavy HDcam which would explain the cost difference.. Either way, their memory card based cam solution solution is pretty clean and cool! Wish I had an extra several hundred floating around. When I do and in the market for a cam, that will definately get my business.

Explain please? Use the screen for monitor, stop start record perhaps?? That would be cool!

Just as a monitor and possibly monitor some engine parameters other than voltage. Is all I know for now.

Cool! Now I really want one!

I use that setup on my mountain bike rides, it works well. You need to be careful about sandblasting the glass that protects the lens, it is not user serviceable. It would only take 2 or 3 trips (unless you are leading) to get sanblasted enough to have a negative affect on the picture.

We recently picked up the V.I.O. line for resale. Should have our 1st shipment of cameras in tomorrow.

Thanks for the info - I need one and that is the best looking I have seen.

Looking for more info......

Just wanted to point out that most standard camcorders do very well as on-board cameras. A decent camcoreder in the $ 300 range is more expensive than the little helmet-bike cameras, but the picture quality and recording length are far superior.

Also, most newer digital still cameras such as Sony Cybershots also take MP-4 movies but the recording length is limited by the size of the memory card.. not a big factor if you shoot selectively.

To attach either camera to your rail, you can get a tripod mount which hose-clamps to your tubes with rubber back from:
http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/RAM/r...prod=RAM-CAMERA

Note you have to select the parts to build your specifi application - you need the base, an extension, and the tripod mount.

RAM makes hundreds of mounts for GPS units etc but for any camera with a tripod socket you dont need a specific mount, just the camera set up, then later you can add GPS holders, iPod holders etc
