The real cool part about the devils slide was the rocks, caves and tide pools on the south side of the beach. If you went in during low tide just make sure that you didnt get stuck on the other side when the tide came back in

Wow everyone, those are some cool pictures. They really spark up some of the good ole days for me too. I grew up in south san diego and remember my uncles went to school with the McMillin boys, and would go to baja with them for 'pre-running' the baja. Unfortunately I dont have any pictures, my uncles might I will hit them up. Mind you this was in the mid to late 70's and early 80's.

I dug up some old school Dumont Pics.

I would say these are 1986/1987 time frame, the 250 R was brand new....didn't even have paddles for it yet.
So the first couple are me roosting the R, then I tried it with the X.....just didn't have the ooomph the throw a roost.

Looking at all these old pics reminds me of when i was a kid and it wsa always a blast knowingaround thanksgiving time....we were going to be at a place that my friends had always heard of but never been. I have to hit up my pops for our old family pics. Im soooo happy that my parents did these when they were kids and kept the tradition going with myself and my brother and sisters.

Graham Lord. I've ridden with him. He lived behind Boardmanville for a few months while he filmed, produced and edited the videos in a cab-over camper sitting on the ground, with a noisy generator running.
He wasn't that great of a rider. I had to lead.
