The areas which are numbered are the train trestles which have numbers written on them, at Glamis. Very tough to miss.

I was out there from Nov. 12th to the 15th and cruised out to Wash 13 (was at wash 11 about 50 yards in), looked to the right 45 degrees and could not tell who was who. There were a lot of people scattered from wash 13 to 14 so I just putted up, looked around and went back to camp. I was on a 2004 CRF50 a couple of times, then on the '85 250R w/ a 6" extended swingarm. I probably looked like I was confused/not sure where I was at, but I was just lookin for y'all. I guess I should figure out what vehicles/trailers are in the GD.com group.
I must say, some of you plain and simple haul a$$ down that wash road with your big-a$$ setups.

Don't hesitate to just go up to a camp and ask.
If it's the right camp you'll be quickly wisked away to meet the group and if it's NOT the right camp our friendly neighbors will be more then happy to point out our camp for you.
We've been camping there for a couple of years now and you have to understand that literally hundreds of people have come there looking for us. Our neighbors are quite used to hearing: "Hey, is this the GlamisDunes.com camp?"

it's pretty much a family oriented camp. We have a good ol time don't get me wrong but camp is, on the whole, a safe, respcetfull gathering of

drinking, dune ripping, peeps all looking to have fun with and take care of each other.
It wasn't that long ago that I stumbled onto these guys and now, I wouldn't camp anywhere else. I've never felt more welcomed or at home anywhere else. Great peeps. I feel very lucky to have met em.
Come on down, your welcome anytime

Gotta camp oriented question....never camped at 13 or 13.5 but I plan on it real soon. My kids like to ride around camp....meaning they make a big cirlce around the outside of camp. Do other kids do this? Does it make for too much dust in camp? What's the norm for the kids who ride but not yet ready for the smaller dunes?
Thanks.

Kids ride all over the place. Outside of camp, inside of camp... It's the washes, there's more than enough room to run around out there in the flats and all the little dunes nearby

About the only time I have seen it be an issue is if the kid is riding unsafe or making kiddie tracks... it's always fixed though

Good people there that look out for each other

Camp 13.5 has a little bit of everything and nearly everyone fits in quite well.
Camp is usually so large that kids riding in a circle around it would not even be heard.
Many people like to stay up late around the campfire or maybe around someones rig and
occasionally the voices can get a bit loud to someone who is nearby trying to sleep. But middle of the night bench racing is frowned upon heavily.
That doesn't mean you can't get up at 3am and decide it's time to go for a ride. It is is Glamis after all.
There are whole packs of kids running around all the time. And sometimes I think the dogs outnumber the kids!
In general, be considerate to everyone. Watch out for the kids and the dogs, do not become beligerant or try to start fights. Camp is a No-Wake zone at all times. Keep any illegal activity completely out of sight at all times (includes fireworks), do not toss crap into the campfire, be prepared to help your neighbor out if he might need it, and be prepared to repeat your name hundreds of times to the same moofers all weekend long!
If you can handle that then you'll thoroughly enjoy Camping at Wash 13.5

what is considered a fast ride? I have been riding for years, started on a 185 honda and now ride a 350 warrior. I can go pretty damn fast, but only as fast as my warrior will go. I like to go fast but dont want to slow down a group of much faster bikes

Dave, there may be some regulars at 13.5 that weekend, but.
Most of us are going to be at the superbowl party at cement flats.
There is a thread (topic) in the connections/gatherings forum regarding this event.
Wherever you decide to camp, you could always join us for the game and whatever activities we may be doing.
As far as finding us. the best way is to follow the thopics in the gatherings forum and announce your arrival upon entering.

Cement flats is the first camp on the right hand side of Gecko road.
And Roadrunner is the last camp at the end of Gecko road.
See the first post in this topic for the location of Gecko road.

We'll be making our first trip out to Glamis in September/October and we look forward to meeting everyone. We don't have a camper or toy hauler...yet (we're new to the ATV scene) but can someone tell me if they have porto potties there? Are they clean facilities?
Robbie
Jul 10 2006, 03:54 PM
The nearest porta potties are about a mile back up the wash road at about wash 6, (at least they were last year) they also have regular restrooms and showers at the store, (about a mile and a half) for a nominal fee. They are in the process of remodeling the store bathrooms, so they should be even nicer next season.

So where is the spot to cam now a days that the compound is no longer?? We are hoping to make our 1st official trip to G thie week between christmas till new years. 4wd and 28 toy hauler... been out there for a few summer night runs but never been there with the family or trailer. We ride rhinos, but it looks like the Mrs. and I are going solo all are friends flaked out for this trip, and i have begged them to go to G but no dice. Are only reservation is that we will have our son Cole with us. he doesnt ride a kid quad (not by dads choice) but likes to play in the sand at camp. He does have some special needs so I like to keep him away from the crazies if possible, Its not uncommon for him to go on a little adventure walk by himself, or go check out the nexts camp motorhomes lol...It is nice when our friends go because they are more or less trained to know his habits and help keep a much needed watchful eye on him at times..
So where do you guys suggest??
