The ASA will be holding a Dune Info / BOD meeting on March 29th, 2008 at Jagged Extreme. During the event there will be a round table discussion similar to the one back in 2005 at the Phoenix meeting, if anyone recalls that one. This roundtable discussion will have an emphasis on Side by Side UTVs.

I will update later as the request for participants are confirmed but we are expecting representatives from BLM, ICSO, US Border patrol, AZ State Parks, CA State Parks, US Forest Service, and possibly others.

We are looking to gather questions for the round table discussion and would like your input. Please post your questions here.

As to the "round table discussion", what would be the purpose of this? What needs to be discussed?

It is a way to communicate.

So, this round table discussion, is it the reason for the meeting, or as a "sidebar" to a regular ASA meeting?

The round table discussion will be the focus of the meeting. The ASA has done this once before and it is a excellent chance to get questions answered straight from the horses mouth. It also gets all the agencies involved on the same page.

I am having trouble wrapping my mind around what kind of questions would be posed. Can anyone help me out here?

Some questions like,

Is a red tail light required at the ISDRA even if you are not riding at night?

Is a light required on your whip if you are riding at night?

Are most Calif. off-road regulations the same in Az. or Nev.?

Are fireworks illegal on Federal land areas, such as the ISDRA?

Do you have to have a Non-resident permit for a Ariz. off road vehicle if you have a Ariz. RV plate mounted to your vehicle?

Where is it legal to use an unlicensed ATV, UTV, golf cart, or sand rail in Az.?

In Calif. is it legal to drive an OHV off-road if your license has been revoked?

In Ariz. what is required to ride on State Trust Land and how do we find out where the Ariz. State Trust Land is located?

Do we have to have seat belts on all seats on UTV's, Golf Carts, and Sandcars to be legal when riding off road?

These are a few but I'm sure there are many more. We did this about two years ago and some things have changed since then.

Since it's a hot topic right now....

What's the status of the secondary permits for towed in vehicles to prove they're exempt from requiring a regular pass?
