Just to set everyone straight.... EPO's are still by invite only. 95% of your consideration is what you do for gd.com and glamis as a whole. Because spots are
EXTREMELY limited, if you should ever see an invite appear in your PM box well then you have passed a rigorous validation.
These INVITES should not be taken lightly as if you don't make one, chances are (about 99.9%) you will never get another invite back. We have to get approval from the BLM prior to the season, and provide our dates, times and locations. What is the bummer of all bummers (and should have their own McPenis Page), is when we get RSVP'd back, and people call the day before the event to say they can't make it. For those it may be no big deal, but the number of man hours and coordination it takes to get an EPO off the ground is monumental.
That being said... if you ever receive an EPO Golden Ticket... just remember that.. IT'S GOLDEN!!!

The path of the EPO is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is EPO, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the slap army, for EPO is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And EPO will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy EPO. And you will know my name is GNC # 1 when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Glad to see a no B.S. post about this topic. Makes sense now, I was wondering if the "secret" deal was because of a lack of permission by the BLM, which I was going to say was "weak sauce" in regards to being responsible. Good to see that's not the case.
You guys ever want to put on a real competition, set up a triathlon of sorts with fastest runner(two feet) up Olds immediately to a 100 foot sand rail pull then a timed CV change, that will help eliminate the rumors of a group of late 30's to early 50's skinny fat (beer belly/skinny armed) tucked in tee shirt/white socks wearing relaxed fit stonewash jeans owning sit and type more than move and do types that the this group has displayed in posted sightings
Kidding aside, it's good to have a group dedicated to doing something right in the dunes. Carry on.

Just to help clear up some confusion...
All current and future EPO's are BLM sanctioned, legal, insured events.
There is no board announcement prior to any EPO (if they even exist) for the very simple reason of, If a race were announced it would get 10,000 race fans eager to watch and we are just simply not equipped to handle that.
Another thing...
If you get a "Golden Ticket" and you realize that you are unable to attend...
Notify someone as soon as possible... and you will suffer
no penalty. We all have to work. We know how it goes... What is no good is getting a notice one day before race time because then we cannot fill that spot with someone who could have made it.
"I wanna volunteer to help"
The safety crew is a very important part of things and is taken very seriously. If you wanna be a part of the "Stiffs" then keep an eye open this summer in these threads for a way to get your name to the Crew Chief (SandTrap)
Hint: PMing him with "Hey, I wanna help out" is probably not the way to go...
