The TRT just recieved a report that last year approx. 260 tickets were wrote by the Imperial County Sheriff for non compliance of having a permit upon arrival to the ISDRA. This year so far, there has been approx. 826 tickets wrote for non compliance. That is over three times more tickets than last year and we have a lot of the season to go. The tickets are I believe $100 for the first offense and $200 for the second, $300 for the third and $300 for any after that. I'd say they are being much more agressive on enforcing the recreational permit this year or less people are complying.

Avoid the hassle and get your permit before arriving at the ISDRA. If you don't have one upon arrival, you are taking a chance of getting a ticket and having it cost you much more than the cost of a permit. If you are buying a permit at the ISDRA, I wouldn't waste any time getting it after arriving. They are definately writing more tickets this year.

Getting ours at Motoworld tomorrow before leaving Sandy Eggo. Same price, no lines, you know you haven't forgotten it at home..... what's not to like (other than having to buy a pass to begin with, but that's another thread!)

I suspect the higher number is because of increased enforcement, rather then more offenses.
