Cool..... I will watch for you. If I cant race I will still go and watch.
I am thinking about having doors put on my Rhino so I can race..... Just for fun. I have never raced before but it looks fun. Is this open to anybody? I really dont want full doors. I would like to go with half doors. Is that ok or do I need full doors?

It's open to any and all side x sides. Last year stock rhinos took first and third place. Last you had to have leg minders and a helmet to enter.
This year they are giving out alot of money, along with a freestyle mx/atv show.

I believe you can. Click the link, it has a flyer with the rules. Other than oem engine cases, I don't see a whole lot of restrictions.

Yep, I confirmed with them that a stock RZR with the stock window nets can race, but you're up against every type of machine imaginable at these things, similar to the first worcs race here at Speedworld this past Saturday. Stock against fully modified...I don't get it personally.

I tried to e-mail them and ask someone there if they know if these payouts are FOR SURE going to happen for the Rhino Pro class, or if they are dependent on the total turnout? Anyone know if these are SET in stone? Or if they can change? Thanks!

Thanks for the pics. How muddy is the course right now? Do you expect it to dry out at all, if it is? Also, just wondering how many vehicles wide the desert portion is. I've watched the video and it appears to mostly be 1 vehicle wide with 3-4 places for passing, possibly.
How are we lining up for the start? Is it a draw? Also, will we have one slow lap before the race to see the course firsthand? I noticed Worcs did that at Speedworld, which seemed like a good idea.
Sorry for all the questions...first race for me!

Chris

Feb 6 2008, 06:25 PM
There is really only a couple spots that are muddy right now and they should be dried up some by the weekend, although there is some portions of the track that go through a riverbed (less than 1/4 mile) that dried up today.
There are some spots to get around people, but not many when you get to the section that goes through the hills. The infield section of the track has plenty of room for passing. The guy from Idiot Boyz was there filming today, maybe he'll have new footage up tonight.
The start will be a one line land rush. First straight is roughly 250yds. I'm pretty sure that he will be calling you up to the line in the order that you checked in for your race to pick your own spot. The line should be able to hold about 30 or so SxSs.
Don't think there is gonna be an "observation lap".
Don't worry about all the ?s.
ravencr
Feb 6 2008, 06:34 PM
Thanks for answering. What about vehicle #'s if you don't have an official #, I guess? So, basically, if we register on-site, we're last pick of the draw for starting line, right?

How many have already registered? Can we fax it in and pay when we arrive on Sunday morning? What time do the gates open on Sunday morning?

Good question Chris. This is going to be my first race too. You are asking all of the questions that I have been thinking. I already asked about practice since it is in my back yard. They told me NO practice for anyone. The course is 6 miles so no pracice lap.
I beleive the winner is the guy hat has the best lap time.... am I wrong?
ravencr
Feb 6 2008, 07:31 PM
Fastest lap time...seriously? I sure hope not. I think they're paying 6 deep from $3,500 to $250 based on places, I thought. Maybe bbc26 will reply with the details.
Chris

Feb 6 2008, 07:49 PM
You can run whatever # you want. If someone already has your # and you really want to use it you can just put an x after it. I think he has 12-15 already registrered. You might want to get ahold of him and ask if fax and pay on site is an option. You can find his contact info and reg form here
http://www.sobobagp.com/home.html I'm just helping out with whatever I can.
The SxS race is gonna be 1hr + 1 lap and scoring will be done by Podium Productions.

By the way, the video on the site doesn't show any of the part of the track that is in the field. That long straight at the end of the video isn't part of the track.

Can you explain.

Feb 6 2008, 08:19 PM
After you come out of the hills in the video, instead of going down that straightaway, you will be going through this field.
This is only about half of it. But it's the only pic I got.
Click to view attachmentThe start is in front of the two big dirt mounds in the left of the pic in between the hay bails and the first turn goes around the tree.

We fit my Dmax and my buddies f350 side by side down just about all the straights in the field. If that answers your question.

Camping is right next to the track. There are no grandstands though so bring your chairs and an ez-up. Oh and don't forget your ice chest

There will be shuttles going back and forth to the Casino (less than a 1/2 mile). Food and vendors will be on site also.
