This post is for the clown camped in Gecko loop that was near us and did not have enough sack to confront us about loud music. I have been playing loud music out there for a long time and have never had any problems. Instead of asking us to turn it down you had to keep calling the rangers who kept coming over to make us turn it off. Did you also complain about about people riding at night and the fireworks? If you can't handle a little music, bikes, and sand cars making noise maybe you should just stay home! angryfire.gif
9094LIFE
Maybe you should care about other people half as much as you care about yourself. Ever heard of common courtesy?
9094LIFE
And even if they did ask you to turn it down, its obvious you wouldent have complied or compromised with them since the Rangers had to KEEP coming back.
pipelayer
This should get good, quick! moof.gif

And 1 last thing, I dont mind the Gecko noise, which is why I prefer to camp there. However that doesnt mean I will go out of my way to be a bad neighbor to the rest of the people camped there.

Naaah, keep it here. When this ignorant fool wads up or breaks down in the dunes, we need a good look at his avatar so we know not to stop and help when we see the car.

Before anyone makes any judgement on my character you should know the music was not extremely loud. We were just a small group of people having a good time and enjoying ourselves. As for being a problem to any of my neighbors I am usually the guy who lends a hand to help out with anything that anyone needs. If I am confronted and am asked to help out or in this case turn the music down I would have been happy to be compliant.

I usually don't like the kind of music that I hear from other camps. whoo.gif

It never ceases to amaze me how selfish some people are, and completely unaware of that fact. You are not alone in the world df. Perhaps you should stay home and give that some thought. HTH, Karl

I am not sure what type of person you are so I will not make any comments on that. But as for how long I have been going to the dunes My first trip was in 1984.
Glamisbound
Why didn't you keep it turned down the first time the Rangers came over and told there was a problem???....wait, I know, because you have no respect for other people in the dunes or the Rangers, who obviously had to waist their time dealing with you over a B/S loud music call.

It doesn't seem your actions are matching your words. If you would have been happy to comply and turn your music down if asked, why did the rangers need to keep coming over to make you turn it off? It would seem that you would have only needed one visit from the rangers, and then would have kept it to a level that did not interfere with your neighbors enjoyment of Glamis.

Given the attitude of someone who is so inconsiderate as to play music so loud a neighbor would want it turned down, many people would be uncomfortable coming into your camp and asking to have it turned down, so they called the people who are not only trained to handle this sort of situation, but are getting paid to take care of it. That seems to be a reasonable thing for them to have done.

Nothing wrong with having fun, but you shouldn't ruin your neighbors fun with it either.

Too late for that!! Should have reworded that first post. I however am willing to give you the benfit of the doubt, maybe it wasnt too loud, maybe it was dunno.gif

Next time may just want to try a friendlier approach than the "eff you if my music is too loud" route.

Why would it have been different if the neighbors asked? It's obvious that someone wanted you to turn the music down so be a good neighbor and sit closer to your speakers. Maybe it was more than one person that complained. Please explain to us why the Ranger had to keep coming back.

We should call this the Super-Azzhat rule. I had a neighbor who had the same sort of reasoning and after having had it explained to him, much like you, still couldn't see past the end of his nose.

My neighbor was ticked off because his garage is his living room and he was playing his stereo loudly in it. He wanted to know if I, as his neighbor across the street and two houses down, was calling in his stereo instead of coming over to tell him to grow up.

I told him that the reality is that if he cannot figure out which of the neighbors in front, rear, left, right, and across the street he has ticked off due to the loud stereo affecting so MANY people with regard to their enjoyment of their own homes, then he is too stupid for anyone BUT the police to deal with.

You state that the "clown" was near you on Gecko and that they didn't confront you. Obviously you didn't know who it was and the number affected by the music was so many that you couldn't figure it out. That means no matter what you think about them and their nutsack, it is time to stop being a jerk-off. You and your music must be affecting the enjoyment of what... maybe 8-10 camps? That is a lot of people who are putting up with your crap. Get over yourself.

If the number of people potentially bugged is so large you can't figure out who is being bugged, then that automatically makes you a Super-Azzhat and out of shame you should turn it down.
Shelvis
Must have had the music pretty dang loud for your neighbors to call on you more than once?!

You are the one who wrote the STORY. My comments were based on what you wrote and my experience of being a Cop for 10+ years and dealing with a billion "loud music" calls. We almost ALWAYS go back a second time b/c the person who says "oh yeah no problem officer, I'll turn it down"...cranks it back up as soon as we leave BECAUSE THEY DON"T CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES. Was you Cop friend there with you???

I am one of those old school people that like to go to bed early and get up with the sun. I know quiet time is 10:PM and can tolerate the thumpy thump thump until then, but I don't like it. I have issues when the noise continues after that. Years ago the sound did not travel like with todays sound systems that bring the base into my motorhome, please respect others and turn the music off after 10:PM and to make me happy 8:PM.

Sounds to me like the ones who won't follow the rules, you know the one about LOUD MUSIC, that the Rangers had to enforce MORE than once, should STAY HOME!

And by the way NONE of the current rules are grandfathered back to 1984!

I hear this from people all the time, I've been going to Glamis since.............whatever.

That doesn't make you any better than any other duner, also doesn't make you exempt from the rules either.

You seem to not understand the point most people here are making. Let me state it a different way... I have been going to Glamis for 37 years and have never had the Rangers called on me. The fact that YOU had the Rangers called on you even once, but by your account twice, makes you part of the problem. YOU are the problem, not your neighbor. YOU. Get it? YOU are the problem. Let me say it again. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.

And I don't mean this is a bad way. You have an easy problem to fix, just turn the stereo down and be respectful of others. Then you will have no problems.

And by the way... Happy New Year! icon_biggrin.gif

So how many spaces did you save over 8 days while listening to your music ?

I wanted to listen to music one night so I pulled my truck next to the fire instead of being a mcpenis and blasting my neighbors camps.

I would have called the BLM also, if its loud enough for another camp to hear its too loud.
