I got this from some friends in my network---Please help these folks out!!!
================================================== =====

Below is an email from my brother's fiancé. My brother (Brent Miller) is still in ICU. He was riding a quad when a dune buggy (described below) came over the dune and took him out. The driver of the buggy got out to see if he was ok then took off after he knew there was no response from him. This coward needs to be found. For all he knows my brother could be dead!!! Brent is on a good path to recovery but he will have to live with physical complications that will occur for the rest of his life.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE forward this to everyone you know
The driver was by himself in the buggy and will have front end damage. This happened on Sunday after Christmas 12/30/07 around 12:00 .

Thank you for forwarding this to everyone!!!

This was taken at the drags on Sunday, so I am guessing that this is not the guy. If it is not, please let me know so I can remove the image.

I hope someone can identify this coward. Please be aware that I have a car that fits this description, except mine has embossed stars/stripes on my silver sides and I run an RX7 Turbo motor. My car was not running until today, so my first trip out will be this weekend. I do not want anyone to mistake me for this coward and chase me down. Everyone please be careful when you are trying to identify the correct culprit. Thanks

i was the one who helped the ranger get him and his stuff up to him.. I dont understand how he got away his front right tire was bent backwards into frame. His steering rack was torn apart.

So can you give us a better description of the car JWolf? Is the body work plain aluminum or painted? Two or four seater etc...

I know the family is very thankful for everyone that helped. You all helped save his life! It's crazy he got away with that much damage to his buggy. I do know the family is being very careful and doesn't want to wrongly accuse anyone, they are just trying to get the word out there in hopes that someone knows something.
Thanks again for everyone's thoughts!

I let the family know. It sounds like there was too much damage to the buggy to be driving anyway.
Thanks

I will remove the image I posted above ^^^^.

Everyone else that quoted the image should do the same.

wow that description fits my car, but i wasn't there, nor would I hit someone and run... hopefully the guy is ok

I was there! The rail was not able to be driven away from the scene. The front right tire was folded all the way around to the frame. The tie rod was ripped out of the steering box. He wasent going anyware fast, and he was there the hole time the rangers were there. What everyone said happend was the rail was ripping around a large bowl at the top. When a guy on the quad cut over the top to bowl, the rail wasent able to react in time and t-boned him.
ces63ss
so sounds like it wasnt a hit-n-run from your discription. just a plain accident. hope it all gets clearesd up and a safe recovery for the guy in the quad.
Sand Tramp
So the Rangers know this person and got his info?

Kinda strange that they are calling it a hit and run. Doesnt make since. Either way hope he get well soon

Remember there are multiple sides to every story. When something like this happens there is a ton of confusion, excitement, adrenaline, emotion...It's easy for 2 people to be at the scene and describe the situation completely different.

I hate to hear news like this. I hope he heals up fully and quickly.

Sounds to me more info can be had by getting a hold
of the agencies that responded to this incident.

There should be a report by Ranger and medical staff
that responded. When I originally posted this, It
appeared to be a cut and dry hit and run. I had no
other info other than what was posted on the web site I saw this on.

That apparently is not the case, I would highly suggest
the person(s) who logged onto this site requesting more
info, get things straightened out before getting on the Internet
and using "Hit and run" to get everyone's attention.

Call the Ranger in that district and the staff handling the injured fellow
should be able to trace back the reports and paperwork, Nothing
like this happens without gathering info from all involved.

Maybe more info from the family of the injured would jar some
recollection of the incident

I sincerely hope the injured recovers fully.

Brent's sister just sent an e-mail. She has found and talked to the person that was in the accident with her brother. He said he was at the accident site the entire time. I am not sure why the report was that he left the scene. I am sure that will be figured out soon enough. As of right now it sounds as if it was a very unfortunate accident. Thank you everyone for your help. Brent is still in ICU and still needs your prayers, the last few days have not been good but the doctors are very hopeful. Everyone be safe out there!!!!
