Yes the trans pump does help. The bigest help is that you can regulate the temp of he trans. With out the pump and cooler we have seen temp upward of 250-280 degres, at this temp the oil is cooking. with the pump nd cooler you can bring the temp down around 160 190. and yes its worth it.

What's your take on them?
Every one has there own opinion on these, from my experince they work good on the lower hp cars like under 450hp.they also have to be in timed right or they pop and vibrate really bad.The other thing is also i have seen them destroy a car when they break you have to rember if it snaps up at the trans intill you get the car stoped you have this long axle swinging around taking out every thing in its path, this includes parts of the frame witch i have seen it do. Just think if they were so good why dont you see them on any race cars.

Yes you want to run the cooler I have mine on top of the radiator. i have a 2d in my car and it dose make a VERY big difference in temp we have check it with a temp gun and the hotteset part of the trans with the cooler running is the cv's the trans was at 150% after a very hard run witch is very good the cv's were alot hotter than that. Here is how I have my cooler set up, line out of trans to filter to cooler to pump back to trans works great. the whole package with SS line an AN fittings should run you about $1,000.00 to $1,200.00 depending on what parts you use. One other thing yes you can do it with the trans in the car and it is a good time to change that trans oil.

I have heard you need to enlarge some holes inside the transmission for the pump to work. Is that correct?
What is everyone using to have the pump and cooler cycle on and off? I have gone through two of these and they have only lasted a short time.
This is what I have been using except with a NPT sending unit instead of the proble.

the 091 is about 3/8 of an inch longer than a 002 but the case is the same dimentions. The cost of a 091 fully built is around $3000.00 and tack me about 1 week call me if you want to order it. (951 372-0404 Rick

welcome Ricky...
Question? I am running a fully built 091... Had a 2896 Type 4 but just converted to a 2.5L Subaru... I went round and round for recommendations on gear oil... I was told to run Swepco 240wt which I have been doing for 1 season now with no problems... It is a little thick but was told due to the high temps in the tranny that with the moly it would make my ring and pinion last longer...
What are your thoughts?
Thx, Rich
