Jerry Seaver
It's at the Ranger Station Area on Gecko Rd. This Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008 from 10 am to 3 pm. Go check out the new facility and vehicles.

If you don't know anything about KCDF, this is a opportunity to find out about a great organization. Below is their Mission and Goals, check their website out for more information.

Our Mission

To increase dune rider safety awareness and to conduct fundraising to enhance the medical services in Glamis Dunes, California

Our Goals
Extend the hours of on-call EMS personnel and ambulances at the dunes;
Provide a climate-controlled triage facility with 4 beds and restroom facilities for the EMS personnel to use while on-call at the dunes; (Currently, they have only their ambulance to sit in for the entire shift.)
Enhance the "on the Dunes" emergency response through the support of existing emergeny response vehicles and providing additional vehicles for the EMS personnel; and provide driver training to EMS personnel for dune rescues.
Provide free information and handouts to the users of the Dunes, identifying "Ride-Safe" sand sport activities along with what and where to go if an emergency arises

Looks like a great program!

Awesome! This organization sounds great and I have no doubt that it'll save lives. Are there any plans on setting up a facility in the south dunes?

That's awesome. I was lucky enough to meet Kris a few times. Once while working the Sand Sports Super Show he brought us a huge bag of Chili Dogs. Compared to the show food they tasted like the best prime rib. It's good to see him remembered in such a positive way.
