I got a ticket at Glamis for no permit.
I have the year long permit that I forgot to display, it was sitting in my glove box.
Is there anything I can do other then paying $100 fine?

Mail a copy of the ticket in with a copy of the Year Pass and explain that it must have fallen off the mirror?

The pass does say you can be sited for improper display.

You always a right to a trial even with just a ticket. You most likely will need some type of proof that you puchased the pass BEFORE you were cited.

It will cost the taxpayers more if you take it to trial, that would be dumb if you ask me. The law states it must be displayed at all times. The first thing I do as i come down HWY 78 before i get to Gecko is hang the pass from the mirror. Sorry you got a ticket that sux.

The problem with our fudicial system, people willingly, knowingly and without regret go into court and LIE rather than facing up to their mistakes. Would you be teaching your children to lie?

You made a mistake, pay the fine and dont let it happen again.

I would write in with a copy of the pass and a receipt of the date you purchased it....be honest / tell them you forgot to hang it and see if they let you go / you have NOTHING to lose!!!

When I buy my pass it gets hung on the mirror, only time it comes down is to be replaced by the next season's pass.

i got one of those $100.00 "improper parking" tickets in early october after i pulled up to camp in the middle of the night. I parked at roadrunner and first thing in the morning rode my bike up to go buy one at sweet maries. I come back about 45 minutes later and the ticket is already one the window.

i pay the 100.00 ticket upon my return but in the memo portion of the ticket wrote 'BULLSH*T TICKET". the check was cashed about 5 days after it was mailed (I have the cancelled check).

Well last week I get a notice of "deliquent ticket" even though they accepted my payment way back in October.

What a chicken#$%^ scam that whole racket is.

Give them even more money. What great advice that is, especially since the intitial $90 is BS anyway.

I didn't ask for pit toilets, trash pickup, nor extra LEO's.

If I were to fight a ticket for no pass or the improper display of it I'd at least be sure to read all of the rules and regs regarding it.. including the imperial county ordinance that you were cited under and the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act that allows them to charge a SRP fee...

That said, you really don't have much hope of getting this one dismissed.

Who cited you? ICSO or the BLM? Did they cite you for ICO 1395?

I didn't buy a season pass this year because I only expected to go 2 or 3 times the entire year. I will be pulling in this Friday at about 11pm or midnight. Is there a place to get a pass at 12am? I usually wait until morning to ride down and get a pass but I don't want to be cited while I do that. What am I to do?

Yeah, let's just give up our rights that we are entitled to because you think it's "dumb". The very rights that this country was founded on. The same rights that people have died to protect. Does that mean those men and women who have fought to protect and secure our liberties and right to a fair trial are "dumb" too? It's pretty simple, you are required to display the pass if you are in the park, if you don't and you get caught, you get a ticket. If you want to protest it, write it in, or request a jury trial, go for it. It's not going to get you anywhere. But maybe you'll feel better about it, like you fought the law and the law won. Make that a ring tone on your cell phone for a while.

He already admitted to having the pass in the glovebox, not properly dispalyed like he should have. You want to get technical? He's guilty! On the other hand, he can "lie" when he goes to court maybe he can get it dismissed. It is his right to fight it but will he tell the truth I think that's what dunerdude meant when he said he's dumb to fight it, not so much the fight for your right speech

I just got done sending in a copy of my annual pass but they didn't give a rats a$$.
All they wanted was Mo Money,Mo Money,Mo Money. It sucked that the pass fell
off the mirror but what you going to do. Next time I will "PAY ATTENTION YO DETAIL"
and then start partying.

What to do? Today is Tuesday. Buy one before you leave. That gives you 3 days. I don’t know where you live, and contrary to what people may like to believe, there are many places in So. Calif and AZ that sell them. Yes, the weekend passes too. It can be done but yes, like buying gas, food and ICB’s you have to put forth some effort.

I live in Rancho Cucamonga, so if you know a place, let me know. I'm not sure if the 7-11 down the street would know exactly what I'm talking about, but they probably attempt to sell me something.

We went last weekend and were able to buy a pass at the Shell station in Westmoreland at about 1am.

I got chased down on wash road once.
I stopped and asked, whats up?

The guy screams at me: "wheres your pass? you have to have a pass!"

i just got my ticket taken care of and my cvheck returned. it is hard to win, but it can be done. took almost one year. no you can not apppear for a ticket, you will talk to someone over the phone.

seems stupid, but it is what it is..they say hang it from your mirror..the v.c. says obstruction of view..either way you could be cited....man they got us both ways....damn white coats are double teaming us....

That is fricken hilarious. SU has been closed down for almost a year now. The only thing there is an empty warehouse. Look for other places Andy. I know Malcolm Smith in Riverside has them, and they are still open for business.

I fight all my tickets , most of the time im guilty but AT LEAST I GET MY MONIES WORTH and I stand a chance that I make the cop come in for court and he might not show.

Yes I miss a day of work (not really im the boss) but I stand a fighting chance and exercise my right for a hearing. Now Im taking their time. So in the end It makes me feel better and I get my monies worth. Ive been lucky and try to put the court dates next to holidays or weekends to the effer wont show.

I have been stopped to check green sticker this year and luckily i had a "cool ranger"everything was good in my case and i was told have a nice day nothing else t day weekend which i took as normal.Last weekend i was out on a ride a ranger pulled into camp checked everything and it was fine except for the 90 i just bought that weekend from az he threathened to impound it and was going to come back to see me.He never came back!!WHY cause he knew he was wrong and if i were there i would have told him myself the first time.

I got a ticket for no pass over haloween weekend. Mine was hanging in the truck all weekend, even had a d*ckhead LEO come by our camp late at night to check all of us, he's lucky he didnt catch a bullet since we had already all gone to bed. Anyway. Packed up everything, as we were leaving we got stopped at the trash cans and were asked for the pass. I told this LEO that it was in the trash and we were leaving, i mean, the hauler was hooked to my truck an all. He wrote me a ticket for not having a pass even as I dug it out of the trash bag and showed it to him in less time it took him to write half the ticket. Ironic part? It was the same LEO that had checked my pass less than 24hrs earlier. Now I refused to sign the ticket and he not so politely offered to take my butt to jail. He didnt, I never signed the ticket.

Now I wrote a nice letter to the Communist state of Kalifornia explaining the situation with a copy of the ticket, names, numbers and addresses of 5 witnesses and a copy of my ACTUAL pass and the reciept from when i bought it. Guess what. Cali sent me the letter back stating I have to pay anyway. Im not. Sorry, Im going to keep fighting this one and they wont be seeing another penny from me. Wont be going back to the dunes again this season either. I wont be harrassed by some little punk that mommy didnt hug enough. We all pay ALOT of money to go have a good time in the sand and none of us should be dealing with this sort of harrassment. Is the ASA doing anything about this, can they do anything? Seems like there are ALOT of BS tickets being written because the state is broke. Sorry kids, thats NOT my problem and I am not paying for Cali's stupidity. Is it just a matter of time before one of these LEO's picks on the wrong group? Seriously, none of my friends are going back to Glamis anytime soon just because of the constant harrassment.
