Congrats! Your car looks great. Steve Wuerth is a classy, trustworthy, upstanding guy.

Our last sand car was a Wuerth Motorsports. We will be starting a new build with Wuerth soon. We are meeting up to see his CAD design tomorrow or Friday. yay.gif

No doubt about it boys- Steve Wuerth builds BADA$$ cars!

I haven't seen a rootbeer colored anything for a long time- Looks great against that sand!

Very nice looking car and the best of luck to you with it.

It's good to see the other side of the story sometimes. My brother has a friend with a new Wuerth sandrail, he spent over 90K on it over a year ago and has yet to ever get it in the dunes. Every time he goes to load it in the trailer he finds something wrong with it. He has taken it to a few different shops including Wuerth and Jim Eplers place for repairs and yet something is broken everytime he goes to use it.

I have never seen the car and find it very hard to believe he could have so many problems with a new car, but it seems to be true. He almost made it out with us for his "maiden voyage" two weeks ago but he couldnt get the car started to load it on the trailer. From what I hear, he is again ready to attempt his maiden voyage on his one year old car...

No, not a bash on the builder. I have no idea what is causing all his problems...just a bash on his situation.

There has got to be more to this story! This doesn't smell right. If this guy is saying that it's Wuerth's fault it would be the first time I have heard that Steve didn't bend over backwards for one of his customers and I would call bs.gif

I gotta agree with Huddy on this one Steve is a very stand up guy and would do everything possible to fix any problems. What exactly are the problems that two shops havent been able to fix?

^^^^ I totally agree with both the staments above^^^^^^

It does sound fishy. And for the record, I have not heard of him ever blaming the builder...other than it was supposed to be turnkey and he hasnt been able to go out with it yet.

I dont know exactly. There have been tranny issues, something with the aluminiuim, starters replaced and most recently a new battery. Hopefully he's goin gout next weekend with us, I would love to find out more.

As of right now, it's all third party info, hearsay and toatlly meaningless info.

It's a real shame that 'lap dance' got his thread pissed on by a comment that has nothing to do with his great experience.

Under drive pullies just help the motor wined up alittle better, they say you get 9 to 15 more horse power, but im not sure of that.I just know the pullies are alot lighter, and look alot better. The picture of me doin the wheelie was not on flat ground,I hit a little whoop to help get the front end up.Good luck with what ever motor you choose
Hope to see you in the Dunes
NKS71
hey lap dance where did you pick up those pullies from? looks good

I got the pulleys from unorthodox racing.com
If you have the 3.5 honda you need to order the pulleys for the 2003 acura MDX
and you will need a gates belt 060390 it fits tight but it works

See you in the dunes

Well then, I'd have to say that you are doing it all wrong! laughing.gif

Rumor has it, Wuerth is changing his Stage 2 design which will include a radius roof and other goodies... Perhaps he should call that model "Lap Dance"
