Got back last night from 4 days at Gordon's. My, my, how it's changed. The dunes were great as always ! But the crowd from Glamis must be moving south to avoid the curfews ? It was so crowded, almost like Thanksgiving last year. I saw more a**holes racing thru camps, cutting people off, & not respecting camp perimeters. Even saw an idiot spit on one of Pair-a-Dice's owners, a lady. Then his crew wanted to duke with the cook. All because he parked his phat 50 right on the sidewalk by the front door & they asked him, many times, to move it. And what ever happened to a wave or thumbs up when you pass or meet someone on a ride ? What about some courtesy ? It used to be nice & friendly at Gordon's, I chalk it up to Glamisization !

Why can't it be a-holeazation? We camp at Glamis, and we have been to South Dunes also. I can tell you the ratio of aholes to cool people is about the same. For every a-hole you run into a whole lot of cool duners. So I don't think it is fair to blame the people that like to go to Glamis for the effing morons that decided to go to the South Dunes.

QG

PS Comp Hill is the only one with the curfew in effect. A bunch of people still go to Olds at night.

Mug, I agree Gordon's was out of control...

Gotta love the "Southside" of I-8! Still very melow and not over run with the jerks. YET!

I bailed out of Glamis on Friday night. Wed through Friday I didn't see any crap behavior. Except Robbie and Mike!

1 OUT OF EVERY 4 TO 5 CAMPERS CAN BE A--HOLES SO WHEN YOU GET LARGE CROWDS THERE ARE GONNA BE ALOT OF A--HOLES OUT THERE AND SO SINCE GLAMIS GETS LARGE CROWDS THERE THEY GET ALOT OF SO CALLED A--HOLES. WELL NOW GORDONS IS GETTIN MORE AND MORE POPULAR SO THERE ARE ALOT MORE A--HOLES OUT THERE.

THE ONLY WAY I SAW IT WAS BECOMING GLAMISIZED IS THE FACT OF HOWMANY VENDORS WERE THERE, THE SIZE OF THE CROWDS, AND TEST AT NIGHT BEING SO CROWDED. THATS ABOUT IT. THERE IS ALWAYS GONNA BE A--HOLES OUT IN THE DESERT BUT DONT LET THAT STOP YOU FROM HAVING A GOOD TIME.

THISWEEKEND WAS ONE OF FEW FOR ME. I HAD A KICK BUTT TIME. YEAH THERE WERE A FARE SHARE OF A--HOLES BUT. DID SOME GREAT DUNING. AND IT WAS ONE OF THOSE JUST AWESOME WEEKENDS.

I GIVE IT biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif OF 5 RATING FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND.

So what happened to the aholes at the pair a dice? I sure hope they were arrested! Those people that own that store put up with way to much shiat. We are lucky to even have it there.
bpguy
I would have taken their picture and posted it along with the details of what happened in there. Then 86 their a$$ from ever coming back They are some of the nicest people and very friendly to talk with.
I doubt I could keep a smile after dealing with a few thousand people everyday wanting this and that RIGHT NOW!

You're right, "Glamiszation" is the wrong word. It was just sad to see the spread of inconsiderate jerks to Gordon's. I hadn't seen that amount of idiocy down south (except at Test on big weekends). I guess I'll just move further towards 5-mile drop. As to the jerk at Pair-A-Dice, he (& his peeps) finally decided to slink back into the dunes. It would have been nice for a little summary crowd justice, but the folks at Pair-A-Dice don't want that either. They were way more cool-headed than I could ever be. Be considerate of your neighbor campers & watch out for kids, PLEASE !!
Robbie
There are @ssholes everywhere.
I wont even go into the local health food store anymore.
I find a better class of people at the dunes then I meet at the mall!

lol, good one robbie biggrin.gif

I had a good time. We went trick or treating and everyone was nice. we had some trick or treaters come over to our camp, which was great. We just made sure to keep the kids inside camp because of the traffic.

The only problem I saw was the morons that were camp racing. I saw one guy on a 2-wheeler race around the flats, when all he had to do was ride 300 yards up to Sand Hwy and make his 6th gear passes. Then when the drags ended everybody races back to camp, and the cross traffic will kill somebody.

all part of the experience I guess

I still love Gordons, Test, Patton and ETC...
MPR
The bigger the crowd the more a$$holes feed off of each other and make it worse. Thats my experience watching these a$$holes.

BUT SEE WHY FOCUS ON THOSE FEW A--HOLES TO RUIN THE WEEKEND OR MAKE IT A BAD EXPERIENCE TRY TO FOCUS ON THE BEAUTIFUL WEATHER AND GREAT TIME RIDING.

ITS BEEN A FEW YEARS NOW SINCE IT HAS BEEN THAT PLEASANT TO RIDE ON HOLLOWEEN WEEKEND. IT WAS AMAZING TO ME THAT JUST 2 WEEKS BEFORE IT WAS OVER 100 AND THEN DROPPING DOWN TOO 75 FOR THIS WEEKEND.
GoatPoker
Weather was great.

I think the crowds were pretty tame. Yes, there was a huge turn out for drags and at Test, but they weren't be too rambunctious.
Rubberneck
I call it Chumminization!

It's just like anywhere in this world today, you have bad and good everywhere. I don't understand people sometimes not enjoying life more escpecially in the dunes, even a bad day in the dunes is a good day.

Man I wake up with a smile thinking "hey I get another day" biggrin.gif
CHEFF
Be an a-hole in your own camp. Outside it....be cool. Peace
IFLYGLAMIS
Cause its not the fact that theres less area to camp ,or more newbies in the sport . Its not because California sold more atv's last year then ever before. Its not cause RVsales have sky rocketed since nine eleven. Because until the curfew in Glamis there was never any crime in the south dunes. No one ever got hurt or crashed . And no one ever needed a helmet cause they all wore halos. A$$HOLES are everywhere ,good people are where you find them , dont blame Glamis just because the south dunes are having growing pains. And if i was at the Pair a dice and saw dude spit on the lady , i would have taught him the lesson his daddy never did. And thats all i have to say about that !
Screamin Ian
Gordons is great on slower weekends, but on all the big weekends I go to the buttercup side and camp west of midway, then come drag time, we just ride over to gordons and check out the scene, I hate to stereotype but in my experience the last few times I have gone to glamis, something bad has happened, either someone runs into me, or wants to pick a fight for looking at their stuff, (why fix it up if you dont want people looking?), or something gets stolen in the middle of the night, maybe I just have bad luck, who knows, as long as I get to ride, I really dont care what dunes I camp at.
Rubberneck
Screamin Ian, where do you camp at Buttercup? I know you said West of midway but how far? We camp on the flats near the old plank road. I know dunernr and a few others camp around the same area. We all need to hook up for some dunin'.
Screamin Ian
on big weekends we find a spot somewhere on the flats, sometime between the road and the freeway, at the bottom of the bank, or kinda along the telephone poles, depends how busy it is, our group doesnt get really big, so we dont like to get swallowed up by the huge groups, a buddy and I are leaving monday morning for T-weekend, that is 7 days in the desert, I cant wait, I am hoping for near the trees, if you are going to be around, let me know, I will send you a pic of my rig, stop by and say hi.
