I got to sit in and check out the new Kawi Teryx. They had a green one. I think they borrowed some of the molds from Yamaha. The bed has the spots in the front molded in for the bed tilt handle but there is no handle and the bed was bolted down and didnt tilt. The front plastic hood screws down and doesnt open. You have to take it apart to access under the hood. The front locker is engaged by pulling on a lever that pulls on a cable, kinda cheesy. It was very basic and plain, one toggle switch for 2wd/4wd, no speedo. It has the same plastic seat bases and latches but there is no storage under the seats, its filled with gas tank and battery. It didnt feel and larger than a Rhino. I would like to see two parked next to each other to compare. I am hoping that at least the motor is a monster.
Until I hear some good feedback on the motor performance I wouldnt be running to go sell a Rhino for one of these yet.
Overall it seems decent but it seems like a very plain copy of a Rhino with a nice motor. Time will tell.
Somebody please buy one and tell us how they run.

I just got my teryx yesterday.

Haven't had much time to run it due to my son's baseball tourney, but enough time to warm it up and do a few burn outs on the driveway! It doesn't smoke 'em but it does break them loose. It sure feels like it has alot of torq and pulls strong to the top. I agree somethings seem a little cheesy compared to the rhino. The hood doesn't lift but there isn't anything to really need to get to under there. The radiator overflow is accessed from a panel below the dash.
I can't wait for a cage and some long travel suspension, hurry up you aftermarket guys! I also have a rhino with a 686 and long travel etc. and I will still be keeping it. It may become the wife's ride if I pump up this teryx motor, oh I forgot the rhino is my wife's ride. I just drive it alot.

the lever for the diff allows you decide how much lock you need rather than a on/off locker. They've had the same system on their big atvs for about 5 years

The LE mod will have easier under cowling access and a tilting mech for the bed, a speedo, drink holder and a few other things.
Kawai hasn't giving a date on when the LE will be released.

I work for an equipment company mainly selling Bobcats and Backhoes and we became a dealer for these and just got them on Friday. Pretty cool.

The LE with all the gadgets will be good. At first glance it looks like they tried to cut alot of corners.
I am excited to see one out in the sand and see some races up the hill.
