Saw one this weekend and the guy was a d!@k and wouldn't let me take it up olds one time. I'm considering getting one or wanting to wait to see what honda's 450 is like. I'm not questioning the power but how much HP does it throw compared to say a craptor which I've also been looking at. Also the 450 seemed a bit on the small side. I'm used to my banshee but I've also had a 400ex and had no problem with the size of that. I'm a big guy and am concered about that. Any input would be appreciated.

I'm 6', 200 lbs, and I love my new 450, I've always ridden 400exs (err, 440 now). As for power, depends on what you want to do. Stock it won't beat a raptor or a shee up China Wall, but it sure can chew up the dunes. It revs quick and brings on the power fast, the suspension is mucho better than the 400ex, very forgiving while landing...also, the bike is very light and you can really toss it around, sliding is a blast.
I've ridden the raptors and the 450 is a much better bike for duning as far as I'm concerned.
My buddy who is a die-hard shee rider tried mine and will be selling his to get the 450, doesn't like having to stay on the pipe while dunning nor the $$ it takes in gas & oil.
I will also be getting the new Honda (if they ever actualy SELL them) and will post a comparison as soon as I can. For now, the 450 is the best available, IMHO.

Congrats on the new machine, I am looking seriously at getting one also, and I am a banshee guy right now.
Let me know your thoughts on the machine, and you said you are a bigger guy also, me too so if you have any input on that let me know.
thanks

I sat on one and rode it around the parking lot and it felt good. It just seems small because it's lower to the ground. I'm 6'3 230 and don't think I'll have a problem.

It has the most power to weight ratio out there. I am sure that it could beat a raptor. I am 6 foot 6 and 220lbs and like my banshee's riding position. I would like to ride the new yamaha though but it will never beat my shee up a hill.

I agree with TRON, the Yfz 450 is in my opinion the best dune quad on the market. I owned a honda 250r, sold it, bought a 400 ex, built it , not enough power, rode a ds 650 , too big, but very comfortable. Rode a polaris scrambler 500 4x4. wanted i KTM 450 exc, sat on the 450, bought it . Best quad ever rode, or owned by far.
