Full Version: Motor Year
Can any one help to find out what year the motor is in my rail.Is their a web site that can tell me what the casting number mean.I need to get a new fly wheel and can not finfd the right one.Thank you in advance for any help.Motor is a 4.3 fuel injected.
Well if it's throttle body then it is 1986-1995 is Z motor
If it has an upper plenum that is aluminum it is 1991-1995 vortec CPI.
If it has a plastic upper plenum then it is 1996 to present vortec.
If it has an upper plenum that is aluminum it is 1991-1995 vortec CPI.
If it has a plastic upper plenum then it is 1996 to present vortec.
It has a black plastic upper plenum.Are all the part preety much the same for the moters from 96 to present.what Truck did GM put this motor in.

Pretty much only the C1500 trucks and astro/Gvans.
