JUST GOT MY CYLINDER AND HEAD BACK FROM TRINITY FOR MY 86' SUZUKI LT 250. I HAD THEM DO A STAGE 3 PORT JOB AND CUT THE HEAD FOR PUMP GAS.

I HAVEN'T BOUGHT A NEW PIPE YET, BUT I PLAN ON RUNNING A FMF FATTY PIPE. IF ANYBODY HAS BETTER OPTION THAN THAT LET ME KNOW.

AFTER ALL THIS, I KNOW I WILL NEED TO RE-JET THE CARB, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START. I AM AFRAID THAT IF I DON'T GET IT CLOSE FROM THE START I WILL RUN TOO LEAN AND FRY ALL THE NEW BEARINGS ON THE ROD AND CRANK, AND THE BREAK-IN PERIOD WILL LAST A WHOLE 10 MINUTES.

CAN ANYBODY TELL ME ANY BALL-PARK FIGURES AS THE JET SIZES FOR THE INITIAL BREAK-IN? FROM THERE I AM SURE THAT I CAN FIGURE IT OUT DEPENDING ON PLUG CONDITIONS.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANKS!!

First I got some questions:

1) what type of motor work have you done? Any crank work or seals and bearing.

2) what type of carb are you running? I run a 38mm Kehine carb with a 65 pilot, middle pos on the needle and a 192 main jet.

3) and is it still a 250cc? or did you go bigger like a 265.

THE CRANK WAS JUST RE-BUILT WITH ALL NEW BEARINGS, AND A NEW ROD. AS FAR AS THERE BEING ANY "OTHER" WORK THAN THAT, NO. I WILL BE INSTALLING ALL NEW SEALS.

THE PISTON IS A LITTLE BIGGER THAN STOCK. I WAS TOLD AT TRINITY THAT IT WAS THE LARGEST BORE THAT IT COULD GO WITH OUT RE-SLEVEING THE CYLINDER. I DON'T KNOW IF THAT QUALIFIES AS 260 OR NOT.

THE CARB IS STOCK, WITH ALL THE STOCK JETS.

BASICALLY I GUESS THE BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE WHAT I HAVE IS A TOTALLY STOCK BIKE, WITH A TRINITY PORT JOB, AND HEAD MACHINED TO USE PUMP GAS. IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE THAT I SHOULD HAVE???
DUNE
Are you using the stock filter or a K&N filter?

Just to start I would go up two sizes on your main jet before you start to brake it in and do some jetting passes but ONLY when you have broke in the new topend.

I would go with the ESR TRX5 pipe. I've heard a lot of good things about that pipe. I'm getting the ATC5 next year.
