Last year at the oregon dunes...my son's 50 was almost worthless! If the ground was jus flat..it would take off ok...but with any incline at all...the clutch would just slip!

Is the what the rest of you are seeing? Or can this quad be made sand worthy? I'd like to be able to use it for my daugter next year!

btw...its fine in the dirt. icon_smile.gif

Thanks in advance for your help!

have you removed the exhaust limiter? (the washer) with that off, those 50's are pretty peppy, for what they are.

Should work fine in the sand. My son has the dinli 50 and it scoots pretty good in the sand.

did you pull the restritor in the intake ? if not put the intake off and you will see it in there stick a screwdrive in the center and turn it out . this restitor is not mentioned in the owner manel. icon_wink.gif

If you really want to make it scoot, pull out the intake restrictor, put on a K&N filter, get a graydon prolilne or ct pipe and re-jet. My son was able to climb all the little dunes near the washes without any problems.

thanks! what jets are you running with what pipe???

I think I am running a 75 main jet and the stacked pilots are still all in.
rivermobster
hmmmmmmm....

so takin out the top stacked jet wont make a big difference?

the main jet still has to be changed?

i was under the impression that when u take out the intake restrictor...you have to remove the top stacked jet as well. is this not the case? or did u do what u did because you added the pipe?

thanks a bunch for your help on this deal!!!!

I tried removing the stacked pilot and it ran like crap. It would fall on its face after a long wide open throttle run and want to die. I think because it was dumping too much fuel into the cylinder with no air after you would let off the throttle and slam the carb slide shut. Once I put the original pilot back in, it ran like a champ. It may be a tad leaner on the bottom end (idle) than stock with opening up the air box but it was probably a bit fat at idle stock anyways. Its a screamer now on the top end.
