I just bought 2 new YFZ 450's and started to install the Motion Pro Vortex twist throttles.
I notice a wire(s) coming from the stock thumb throttle.
The motion Pro Twist throttle make no accomodation for this wireing.
Anyone know what these wires are for (throttle position sensor perhaps?), and what to do with them when installing a twist throttle?
I'd post a pic, but I've found posting pics on this site impossible.
Thanks

Im taking a guess, but these wires might be part of a throttle overide system, or T.O.R.S.
the t.o.r.s. is on the yamaha banshee and blaster, but im not sure about the yfz 450,
Just look on top of the carb, there will be a box where the throttle cable goes into, and it will have 2 wires coming out of it,
other than that i dont know

$14.000 OTD for both including 2 years added to both warranties.
I paid $200 more each for 4 year theft insurance.
Best deal I could find.
Red for my son, blue for me.
I sold my '02 Raptor and don't regret it at all.
The YFZ 450 is really fun to ride. Power like a rocket, excellent handling, no I take that back,, it's awsum handling.

Allright, for your info:
The wires from the thumb throttle are for safety.
If the engine goes to full throttle, the thumb dead man circuit has to agree. This is what the wires are.
In other words, if the thumb throttle isn't in 100%, nothing else will allow the engine to go 100% either.

Well, except for Chef in TX, I think you got the prize for the lowest price. Now if we just knew where you bought them....

I called Yamaha of Antelope Valley last week and was quoted $6900 OTD.
Don't know if they'll still ask that his week.
Berts, where I bought mine, gave me a good deal because I was willing to wait, and I've been a customer there since it was a bicycle shop and the orig Bert owned the place.
They say their waiting list is so long they'll be asking premiums over the MSRP untill the season is over or sales cool off.
Three people off the waiting list were waiting at Berts when I picked the up YFZ 450's in case I didn't show at 3:00 pm sharp to pick up the quads..
Kolbe in Woodland Hills Calif, had his entire YFZ 450 inventory until February bought out by a private party in Texas.
We talked to a couple from South Dakota at the Pilot station in Lenwood and they mentioned that all over the west and in South Dakota the dealers are marking them up,, and getting the premium price. That is,,, if you can find one they told me.
