Does anyone know where I can purchase an annual pass either online or in San Diego?
SailAway
Last I heard, they were still working on getting the online service working. You can order them via telephone by calling 1-877-415-1381.

I haven't heard anything about passes being available in shops.

On the topic of "Annual Pass"
I've realized that it saves me money to just get one as opposed to doing the 1-week thing a bunch of times a year.
I remember hearing that if you bought your week pass and then went to the ranger station you would get credit towards the Annual. Is this correct? What about if I brought in my reciept from Halloween , would they give me credit with it now being Thanks giving?
sorry if this is the wrong forum for this question. icon_sad.gif

Wait, I got something for you. We went last weekend, bought our week pass on Sunday right before we left. Can I go out this weekend and still use that pass until Sunday at the same time? Or do I have to purchase another one because thats using 2 weekends on 1 pass?

Look at THIS thread for more info on where to buy Annual Passes.

929 - I don't know if you will get "credit" toward an Annual Pass or not. You can call the BLM El Centro Field office and ask, or try it at theRanger Station. In the meantime I will get an e-mail to the BLM and ask them.

WaPa - You say bought you pass "on the way out" on Sunday, right? Did you get there on Sunday? Tell the truth now... unsure.gif icon_biggrin.gif

Well, the weekly pass is good for 7 days, so technically, it is good until the following Saturday at the time you bought it.
SailAway
929, yes this is the right thread for that kind of question. icon_biggrin.gif

The way it used to work is, if you bought your pass and then turned around and decided you wanted to upgrade, they'd do it for you. That is, as long as it was over the course of the same weekend.

But they made it clear they wouldn't be upgrading as a habit and I took that to mean they wouldn't be as reasonable as they had been about it in the past. That's just what I've heard and not what I've confirmed. I'll send a few messages tomorrow to see what I can find out.

And Wapa, Lobuck's right, it's a 7-day pass you purchased so check the date. rollsmile.gif

I bought it on Sunday, on my way out at like 4:00pm. So that means its valid until this Sunday at 4pm! sweet

Yep. Very cool. 7 days is 7 days, no matter what day you buy it.

Now that's getting your $25 bucks worth Andy!

Here is what I asked the BLM via e-mail:

Subject: Credit from Weekly Passes
Neil,

This question has come up: If a person buys a weekly pass, can that $25 be
credited toward an annual pass if they bring in the receipt? I would think
it would be OK if it was one week only being credited. Would it need to be
done at the Ranger Station?

Thanks,
Glenn

Answer from Jamie Neilans at BLM:

Yes, they can credit the $25.00 week pass towards a season pass, as long as
it is within 10 days of purchase. They need to send it to Central Parking,
PO Box 671, Brawley, CA 92227 with their receipt, address, and contact #.
Once Central Parking receives the information they will call the contact #,
get the person's credit card # in order to charge the difference, and then
send them a season pass in the mail
.

So, there you go. Good Deal! Get it to Central Parking within 10 days of purchase.
